Just took delivery on this absolutely beautiful jacket yesterday but, sadly it's just too big for me. It's their standard 36 sizing and measures 21" pit to pit and I'm more like 19". Sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff is 24". It's going to be a major hassle for me to exchange so I'm trying this first. I'm into it for close to $1000, hoping to not get killed on this. Open to discussion.

That’s a really beautiful jacket. Seems Sb has switched gears and now oversizes compared to tag size. I noticed this with the last 44” I bought that fit and measured like a 48”. Shame it didn’t work out for you and you have a 36” that’s actually a 38”.

It is because I really love it. The leather is exactly what I expected but apparently there was some miscommunication when gave them my measurements. Also, I was very happy with the tartan lining, it's kind of a get what you get with that.

How do you like the Horween Lux horsehide? I'm considering ordering a jacket in that leather, another option being their CXL steer.

They have indeed changed at least some patterns, over-sizing them and getting rid of the tapering. Wasn't exactly impressed myself when receiving a size 38 cross-zip with a 20" waist.

The leather itself is awesome! Exactly what I expected. As for the return, I was informed I would have to pay an additional 20 pounds for them to advertise it on their website and hope it would sell at a reasonable price, then they would refund me whatever they received for it. I assumed I would be responsible for return shipping but that since it was a standard size they would replace it with one that actually fit me.

What are the other measurements?
Shoulder width, back length, hem width?

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with this maker. Their mistake shouldn’t be topped off with bad customer service and handled this way.

That's definitely the first time I've heard a company handling refunds like this.

That is a NWT absolutely beautiful jacket in top hide. If I were you I would try to hold out for the best price if you can. No need to get killed unless you absolutely have to sell. There is a decent population of smaller guys out there to which you can market this. Good luck!

This is Not Your Problem. They will never see an order from me if this is the way they as a company choose to handle returns. I could possibly see a "restocking fee" but in this instance you specified the fit, were asked and checked for fit, and it's still much too large, they goofed it up. If you used a credit card - have them stop payment to this company. I would not deal with them again.

Unfortunately, I had to pay up front and the money is long gone. They are trying to justify their policy by saying I authorized the fit. What I did was trust that the size they claimed matched the measurements I sent them was proper. There is no way this jacket lines up with my 35" chest measurement I provided. When I sent my first email to them after receiving the jacket to inform them it was too large, she sent back a pictorial of how to measure from a well fitting jacket I currently own which was NOT provided in the initial ordering process and does not appear on their website. I had someone measure my actual body as requested. They have yet to reply to my last email sent yesterday the 2nd. Again, this is the jacket I wanted and would be very happy with it if it fit me properly.

This sounds sadly familiar.

Can you zip her up and throw a tape on that pit to pit?

I almost ordered from them but reading about their customer service changed my mind. Not something that I would like to deal with. Sorry to learn about your experience and good luck with the sale.

I would call them - not email - during UK business hours the Monday and ask for the full rundown. Let them know this is making a mark on their reputation. $1k + USD is not insignificant and sometimes the best way to to be polite, but direct.
