Anyone else wear theirs this way? I got a book about 1920's fashions, and it seems like most of the 1919-1923 fedora's were bashed this way - so I tried my best take on that style with a little steam. Turns out I really like the look.
Open roaders need not apply... I think this bash long predates that model, no?

Tony - it's an Art Fawcett custom. "Natural" color, pure beaver; 5 3/4" crown height, 2 5/8" brim; vintage silverbelly color ribbon.

I can't wear this hat out without people complementing me on it.

That is a good thing. :D You nearly had me fooled into believing that it truly was vintage. Sneaky. :p
Actually, it is a very good rendition of a vintage style. I mean check this out:

Hemingway, here is poor shot, but may serve the purpose. Excuse the gargoyle modeling the hat...

James, love the Mallory ad. All I did was take Art's work, iron the brim flat, and put in a couple side dents. Pretty easy.

I was working from this picture in the 1919 Sears catalog:

Interesting - looks to me a bit like a dress version of the cattleman bash. Who's to know which came first?

Just a little variation can certainly make a difference in the look!

Dignity and sobriety.

Beautiful hat, Joel. Your styling looks spot on. I've heard people talk about "The Serious Hat" before when differentiating between wearing hats as costume or "posing" and wearing a hat as a regular, integrated piece of wardrobe. THAT, my friend is One Serious Hat.
