Will they let you taper the sleeves?
Cunukpanda’s jacket is one of the few that I’ve seen fit. Even on the website the guys modeling look crazy in these pictures. I get that not everyone is into slim fit but these are literally balloons around the biceps. They have a long waiting list so people must like it.

I found a Cascade for a good deal, but it is 11/2 in too long in back.
Would you pass up a deal for that reason, I am going to use it for riding.

If you can afford to have the money tied up in the jacket, you can try it out and flip it if it doesn't work out, with minimal risk. If you are sure it will be too long, then I would pass on it.

In theory the sleeves are built to conform to your body measurements. Langlitz asks for measurements around the bicep, forearm, and wrist as part of the order process. I would say they did a good job on both of my jackets, sleeves are comfortable and not overly large.
As for the photos on their website, they are just bad. It’s hard to believe that with a store full of stock and custom jackets they couldn’t find any that actually fit the people in the photos.

I would strongly suggest that you ask for very tight fit on your sleeves. I specifically asked for very tight fit cut on my sleeves and I think the result is just regular - slim fit. But the wrist opening is small and I like it a lot.

Good to know. I figured they could make them to customers request, no need for metrosexual tight but the ballon arms on the website should be updated.

Possibly throw a bag or belt to the members here with great custom jackets in return for using their picture.

I purchased a timberline that was ordered by previous owner, extra long in torso. Took it to Langlitz to have cropped down 2”. They didn’t want to do?
Took to local leather shop and had done. Didn’t cost too much and turned out well. Only thing that keeps me from saying turned out great was the wavy stitch line.
I posted before and after pictures.
I recall someone had a Cascade they changed from rear drop to straight cut and posted pictures

Took back Timberline to Langlitz after I had modified to have pin-striping added to back. Reminded them that they refused to shorten length. They did the pin-stripping at no charge.

I dislike long riding jackets and 1.5 may be too much. But it may not be given the how the pattern works on you, riding position, etc. If this is your first cascade, then I would take the chance if it’s a deal. See how it works for you. Resell if needed. Maybe make some loot.

If it’s the Langlitz goat, a longer jacket shouldn’t be as uncomfortable as one made of their thicker cow.

I would not pass up a deal for 1.5".
Keep in mind that the cascade has a back dip and the back measurement can look huge on paper but is usually ok on the body.
For example my LW jackets have a 25.25" back but my Columbia has a 27.5" back and fits just as well.

Also your specific riding position will influence things.
With the LW the back is a bit short for hunched over riding, but it feels great when sitting straight.
I don't have that problem with the Langlitz, i can ride any bike in any position and my lower back is always sealed.

Thanks for the input everyone. The jacket arrived and is an awesome
hide, its whole another level for me. The back length is not a problem as I ride upright, but it happens to be too big in the chest and shoulders. The measurement for the pits was incorrect, even though pics were sent. It was not stretched at all, and the leather is quite heavy. It weighed 9 lbs and feels like it. I went for a ride and it was as comfortable as any jacket I have ever owned. I am happy and think it the fit is not that bad as I may need it bigger for my waist, not ever gonna look as good as Carlos in A DR.

Oh hell yeah!
how does it fit?
Fits perfect! Asked for same fit as my most recent columbia all around as that fit great. Just wanted a couple tweaks compared to that one style wise (belt loops, non hidden snaps, no police badge) it is Maybe 1/4 inch shorter front length and a little trimmer chest which is great. Mouton collar is crazy not sure i will wear it with that lol but glad i got it and like the look of the extra snaps on the leather.
Here is the previous one

My downsized Columbia returned from Langlitz

Thought they were remaking the whole thing, but they took the chest and bicep in. Overall I’m mostly pleased - the chest and bicep are definitely a better fit now.

However the armhole is still really big, and the waist also feels somewhat oversized. I’ll give it a lot more wear before coming to any conclusions.

It gives almost a workwear vibe, which I really dig. I think the proportions do look good even if not some platonic TFL ideal fit.
