Mike, you got the goods! As you may or may not know, flying saucers and bug-eyed aliens are way high on my list, and that rocket lamp is pure old school cool. I really dig it.

I guess these qualify as unusual.

Edwards No. 10 shear. This one dates to the 1930s. Weighs over 500 pounds and will cut through 1" rod/bar stock and 1/2" plate steel. They still sell new blades for this thing. Believe it or not, I use it on occasion.

Shell Oil brass stencil. 15" x 15". This was a great find, and I have made good use of it.

Old blacksmith hand shears and ladles (forgive the weed wacker). The shears work, but are pretty much useless. There are better and faster ways of cutting. The largest ones are 45" long. The ladles, though large, are very useful for melting aluminum and lead.

Definitely out of the ordinary, Harv. That Shell stencil is sweet, and the shear might come in handy if you ever decided to pursue a new career path, say.......in collections.

Thanks Dale. Believe it or not, I got the Edwards shear out of a junkyard in Northeast Alabama. They used a fork lift to get it into my truck. It was gratifying. Especially since it was only 40 bucks. :D

Harv, per pound, you got a steal on that shear. Bet you've got a story on how you got it out of your truck. The fact it looks like a freaky animal is pretty damn kool too.

Around here, if you see one of these in the close proximity of a portrait of Bear Bryant, it means you are probably about to eat some good BBQ.

Dale, that Jackalope looks to be in good shape. Usually when you see them, they are covered in dust and cobwebs, with patchy fur looking like they have a bad case of the mange. :p
You need t locate the crow near Mr. Jack. It will send the right message.

Harv, the jackalope probably looks so healthy because he lives in my house and not a BBQ restaurant.

And Pancho and Lefty (the kids said the bird needed a name) is right there keeping him company.

Here's the mantle clock they share the living room with.

Nice matador stuff Dale! I have something that would fit right in that is decorating my "man room" in the basement. Sequins and fish gravel on burlap.

This fellow is not that unusual, but is a bit weird. He was shot by my late father-in-law in the 1960s and is wearing my late uncle's fishing hat (and a thrift store tie of course).

Unique, unusual, or just plain odd. I know you all got something a little out of the ordinary. Let's see it.

What've you got?

Unusual or plain odd...
Piece of wood from Al Capone’s boat.

Also, I have somewhere, a piece of a rock or stone that was used to make the irrigation canal
or acequia that was used as a water source at the Alamo from the 1830s. The demolition crew was
clearing the site for new buildings & I thought it was interesting to save one piece before it’s gone forever.

Bob, that matador is on time! That thing looks great. And the hog.....well, he looks a lot happier than Mike about being stuffed and mounted! Fantastic decor for the rumpus room! (Does anybody use that term these days?)

Dos Jakes, those are some absolutely cool pieces of weird history! Great stuff.

Thanks for sharing guys!!!
