Great pattern, and I often wish that, too. Once in a while I see patterns on Ebay with the fabric already cut out and pinned, and wonder what happened that the maker didn't finish it.

Um, they run out of time to make it and it goes out of fahion, they change size, etc. Also, my mother cut loads of things out for me as a child and then I grew too quick, so they never got made!

Man, how I wanted that blue romper suit from the film 'Annie' that she cut out and didn't make in time. I still wish I'd had that, even though I had lots of things she did make me.

Well, I guess I found it a bit surprising because I only cut when I am in the mode and will put it together right afterwards. :)
The only times projects stall is when I can tell from the muslin things don't fit, made a huge mistake, or can't work out what the next step is. But I can see how children might have grown before the maker ever finished.

Pattern 1 was so hard to hunt down, too! There was one a while ago, but about 5 sizes too small, so I got really lucky as I don't know how to resize yet.

I'm a very newbie sewer, who hasn't actually sewn anything other than knitting needles cases and aprons yet, but I'm already developing an addiction to collecting vintage patterns. I'm just starting my first circle skirt now (with a modern pattern), so it will be just a matter of time before I'm tackling some vintage ones. These are a few of my newest additions:

I was so excited to score this one - exactly in my size!

I loved both of these.

This one is a bit too big in the bust, so I'm hoping fixing it won't be too difficult. No one else bid on it though and it went really cheap.

I love this one, but it's going to need more work to make it fit. I'm hoping that a full bust adjustment will make it work because I loved it and couldn't resist.

I won't even mention the other addiction I'm developing to purchasing vintage fabric...

Love the last pattern!! As a relatively newish (atleast in the past few years) to sewing person who has sewed with both modern and vintage patterns I have to tell you I find the vintage ones easier so goodluck!!

The two that are in the picture together are printed ones, so that I'm use to. the rest are all the perforated ones. I've told myself that since I'm fairly new to all patterns it will be just as easy to learn to work with them as it will the modern kind. :)

I'm happy to hear that they are easy to use though!

Just read through the instructions first, I find that it makes sense on why I'm doing something if I do that. Now with unprinted patterns I have only used one before and I don't know if I did it right (it didnt matter on my project as I alters the whole thing anyways) so many someone with more experience with those can give us both some tips... There is a sewing thread around here that I have been too lazy to read..
