Is it a different size? Hollywood seemed to print the sizes in different colors quite often. Or could be a different run altogether. I love how there is no rhyme or reason to it all :)

I love love love this Mc Calls but did you all notice the sides of the striped skirt. I don't think I've ever seen stripes done that way. I bet if I sewed it that way, people would be telling me I screwed up. Or thinking it! Of course Lauren's sewing is so professional looking I guess no one would think that if she did it!

I saw it for the first time years ago, and every time it popped up I either forgot about it or it was out of my price range, so I just finally got lucky and snagged it from FuzzyLizzie on Etsy (thanks, Lizzie!). I am so *not* hourglass, so I find 50s shaping so interesting! I love the styles and am pretty excited to eventually try this one out. I think it sews into the garment, kind of like shoulder pads- you probably baste it in at the waist. Funnily enough, Gertie did a post on this very pattern not that long ago and even scanned in part of the instructions :)

You are very welcome, Lauren. I'm so glad it went to an appreciative home!

I don't know what I like more, the actual pattern or those AMAZING fabric choices! WOW!

Well, if you actually have this pattern (which I assume you do since you posted it here) you can have the best of both worlds. A little detective work to find the right fabric, et voila! I would go for the chevron stripe myself, but they are both pretty sweet.

Thanks, Idledame! You know, I didn't even notice the stripes until you pointed it out! lol! That is all kinds of awesome. I'll have to track down a suitable fabric :) And many thanks on the sewing compliment!!

Very Cute DPD. How is the condition that one? I was bidding on some of those but with those condition issues I didn't want to pay out what some of those people paid for them.

I finally got around to inspecting this. Most of the peices are fine. The blouse back of the sleevless version and the skirt side front and sid back are not so good. I think I can still trace them. You can have it when I am done if you like.

My newest eBay wins. Dresses from 1955 (left) and 1956(right)

and a lovely blouse pattern from 1942 that came with some really old bell-tip shaped pins still attached to the pattern.
