Gorgeous! It's amazing to see it already made, thank you for sharing Kate. I'm eager to get going on my knitting.

That looks cute, congrats! :)
But can I ask a (probably stupid) question: What makes the difference between a white dress and a nurse's uniform? Are there any vital differences between a uniform pattern and a regular dress pattern? Is the little cap in the pattern, too?

Deadpan Diva very cute with either sleeve!!!!

This is a repro from the Vintage fashion Library. I like the cap sleeved version but since fall is approching I think I will try thr short sleeve first.

I think its funny that they had a pattern in their 40's section that I just bought at Hancock fabrics for 99cents. Its a repro Pattern that has not been discontinued. Be sure to do your homework on those repros they are selling ladies.

I don't know why, but I've been obsessed with nursing uniform patterns for years and finally got a 30's one.

Very cute, my husbands grandmother was a nurse she is 88. She was showing me some cute pictures of herself in her nurse uniform when she was younger this summer. Too cute and I don't think your the only one with a nurse obsession;) :p

Joie Devive I totally agree I have always wanted to embroider on clothing does anyone on here ever do it I haven't noticed it yet. That little bird with its clothes pin is adorable. Deadpan Deva great score!

I just got some patterns and one had a bonus news paper clippings of pattern, embroidery transfers, and a crochet slipper pattern inside. I will have to post a picture later. I am not sure when I will get time to make anything this week I had to put in a few 12 hour days at work grr.....

Sorry to hear about your patterns Lady Day. hopefully they will still turn up. I had a pattern that took more than a month to get to me one.

I also love when the mail order patterns come with the newspaper ads. I have 3. I love any getting any extras with my patterns. I have simplicity pattern that has a receipt for some notions and 8 yards of fabric.

I am exited about the clothesPin pattern because the embrodery is cute but also so of my sister's coworkers want aprons and the pockets on those are big enoigh for check presenters.

The problem with the Hollywood 1825 is that its only pattern pieces, so I have a question for you gals, are all unmarked pattern keys the same? Or would i need to search out a Hollywood deltor?

No, not all perforated patterns are the same. There are some universal markings, but you do best to find another Hollywood pattern that has instructions. Any instructions should do, really, you just need to see the description key. Generally pattern companies all took to the same markings.

Or be daring and go it without the instructions. ;)

Ms Sew-n-Sew I was watching your pattern, but decided not to bid as it wasn't my size, I'm glad someone on here won it, I really like the topstitching detail.

I bought this Simplicity pattern instead, it arrived today and thankfully it's complete.
I've been looking for a Culotte pattern for sometime, it's a 30 waist & 39 hips which is perfect.

Hello Poggleberry

Thanks! I really like the topstitching too. I think it'll make a really nice outfit. I'll need to take the culotte pattern out an inch or two, but that shouldn't be too difficult. I'm glad you got a culotte patten too - and it's lovely!

I LOVE vintage nurse uniforms! When I was working as a dental assistant I would have died for a couple of nice nurse dresses!! I actually wore quite a few scrub skirts!! I love this pattern!!

I'm always looking for good culottes or a culotte dress! The 'more vintage' the better!! I esspecially love the full ones that look like a skirt!!

I'm positively IN LOVE with this dress!! I'm looking for more like it or a similar sewing pattern. Any suggestions?
