Show us your vintage hats!

So I've been looking around the powder room at all the different threads. I see many on hair (which are sooooo helpful), clothing, suits, make-up, etc..
I have just been collecting for the past 3 months, and one of the things I really love are Hats. Before I started collecting, I always wore a hat. I have a nice amount of modern ones. I would really like to see your hats. I think it would be fun, because hats are all so different, each has its own personality. I know I can find a vintage suit or gown, and even if it doesn't fit perfectly, I can get it altered. But, a vintage hat in great shape that actually fits can be challenging. Now's the time to show off your hats, and I know some of you are avid collectors. Vintage, New, Repro, it doesn't matter. I'll start off with 2 that I really love (haven't worn them yet=-()and I just had to throw in a picture of Lily, my 23 pound british shorthair. She makes for a great hat model. I look forward to seeing what you've got.

well, am I happy as a clam or what? This darling thing is my latest addition to the hat collection and I can't wait to get it - just won on ebay a few minutes ago!

I'll have to take some pictures of the rest of the collection soon - need to set up a place to take photos of godies. I've been in love with hats for some time and have made or made-over a number of them. This one needs a bit of TLC too, but nothing major.

I used to have a huge collection of vintage hats and fascinators but I loaned them to a theatre group and never got them back. At the time I wasn't that worried about it because they'd just been carefully packed away and not used but now I really regret it. Not just that I don't have them to wear but because I didn't make enough fuss about getting them back in the first place.

OTOH, I hope they are still being instrumental in giving pleasure to a good many people.

I love all the hats you ladies have posted! While I am sure there is nothing that completes an outfit more than the perfect hat, I am just not a hat person - I look ridiculous in them! I envy those of you who can wear these hats and pull it off so well.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your collections!

Has anyone else read Lilly Dache's book Talking Through My Hats? It's so great! All her biography of her hatmaking. It really fuels the hat obscession. She was such an eccentric. I love her.

WOW!! I find lots of hats in estates but rarely any as fabulous as the ones you gals have....what great pictures!! I look silly in them, but hoard them anyway. Somehow I have ended up with a small collection of faux leopard (and a real one, 30s black suede w/ real leopard bow on top!).....but this one is currently my favorite in the house.....great plumes in shades of blues wrapped around a black velvet platter shaped hat with grosgrain ribbon ruffled edge.

Ladies, there is a hat to suit everyone. Just got to find it! I think many people just aren't used to wearing them or the attention it brings, so that makes them feel they don't suit them.

I am loving the hats and will have to post some pics, soon as I get the pic thing sorted out!
