Here's a picture of our Fords! Mine is the 53 on the left and My boy's is the 32. He finally got the 53 done so we decided to cruise out to a show last Saturday.

Nice cars! What part of the county do you hail from? I'm in the southern end, Q-ville.
Here's another of my bikes, this time a '46 Columbia motorbike.

I don't have a pic of my car, so I'm substituting it with one that is the same year and model. The only main difference is that it's color is black cherry and white instead of green and white...oh, and maybe this one is a bit shinier:p

My '89 Chevy Cheyenne. Getting a bit old but I still love 'er. Does burnouts great too. :p

We also own a '56 Olds but I don't have any pics of it.

That is what my beloved Grandpa said. He owned a Chevy dealership in SW Mo. until he passed and I never saw him in anything else. I bought a Cutlass Calais in 1978 and I thought I would be disowned. It was pointed out, that I could have gotten a Monte at cost. I have driven Chevy for most of my life, from Camaros and Vetts, Chevelles and Novas to Blazers and Suburbans. I currently have a Silverado and would not trade it for anything.

I'm another non-driver. Dad has been a vintage fan from as far back as I can remember - when I was born, he was in the middle of a two-year restoration project of a 1936 Austin 7. There's also been a 38 Austin 10, a 59 Sunbeam Talbot, a 56(I think) Morris Oxford, a whole bunch of others. I did in my teens (long before driving age) own briefly a Morris 1100 from the 60s, and then a 1959 Ford Pop (the later saloon model, not the sit up and beg style). I don't own a car for a coupel of reasons really - the expense here in London, lack of any need for a car with 24 hour public transport on my doorstep, and the fact that I always hated driving. I did my test in 1994, and I think I've driven less since than I did in the two weeks leading up to the test. I last drove on February 7th, 1999 - the night before I moved to London.

If ever money wasn't an issue and I did decide to have a car or two, well... I love US cars from the thirties through forties, but evne if i could afford to feed one, I'd be concerned avbout the environmental impact, i think.... I do like the british Fords of the 50s - both Mk 1 & 2 versions of the Consul / Zephyr / Zodiac. They were like little baby US Fords - same Juke box styling, but with the steering wheel on the other side (I wouldn't attempt to drive LHD here), and 7/8 the size - a lot more manageable.
I also like Morris Minors and a lot of the 60s Volkswagens a lot, though in recent years my enthusiasm has been dulled a little by their association with 60s retro - I've really grown to loathe the feitshisation of the 60s that my parents' generation has indulged in over here.

The ideal for me would probably be some form of kit car - modern reliability, low emissions, good fuel ecomony, but with 30s styling. Something along the lines of a Morgan would be great, though it would have to be a kit, the real thing is unlikely ever to be within my reach.

My father or mother never owned a car and my wife's father or mother never owned a car. Lots of people in the UK who reached middle age before the 1960s never owned a car. I guess I am one of the first generation in the UK to think that owning a car was first, possible and second, cool.

Possibly as a consequence I and most of my generation used to be bike and car nuts. Building them, driving them, racing them.

Now, I wonder whatever I saw in them. My 1937 Ford is on blocks in my garage and hasn't been driven since (I think) 2001. If I want to travel, there are 'buses, trains, 'planes and boats. Even hovercraft. Who needs a car?

My kids are in their 20s and neither have expressed any interest in owning a car. I'd like to think that they are of the first generation in the UK that thinks NOT owning a car is cool.

Blood, a lot of sweat, some tears, copious amounts of paint dust and a few ice cream sandwiches from the truck that passed by while I was working:

It's going into paint jail today. I'll be without a car for close to a month. I'm hoping to have something like this when I'm done:

All came different than I would have thought. I got a car yesterday from my dad. Not vintag, but really not bad either!
It's a great start and I'm very happy!:D

The model is a 1990 VW Polo (exactly) like this one:

It's not mine, it's my Dad's. 1932 Ford 3 window coupe - Steel body, still in original 1950's Hot Rod condition. And that's Boris ready to ride.

If running it is a real good deal. The guys I know www.egge.com can probably get any engine parts for repair or rebuild, possible performance stuff too.

A good source for info as to where to get stuff is a magazine called Hemmings (Motor News?) they list manufacturers, parts specialists and shops for getting all sorts of work done.
