My mother and I went in half and half on this one, today. We bought it from my sister and brother in law.

It's a '77 Chevy Scottsdale. Needs plenty of work and will certainly keep us busy lol

Hoping so, as long as I can do something about the RUST!!!!!

Besides cosmetics, it runs great, but needs some tranny attention. Sometimes, it doesn't want to shift out of first. I've found if I start out in L2, instead of drive, then shift into drive, after 2nd gear, it'll shift.
Worst case scenario, TH350 transmissions are easy to come by and easy to swap.

Its a Chevy, it will last forever. :p

Sounds like the internal seals are dry. Has it been regularly used or sitting? I would try some of that transmission conditioner stuff first to see if it will lubricate it up. Change the transmission fluid first to see if it helps then add the conditioner if that doesn't do it.
