You hit the jackpot! That's a nice haul.

At some point in time, I have seen what would be called a novelty tie with a similar cartoon on the front, as your avatar...the old wolf whitsle tie.....do you or anyone have one like that?

I don't have one, but I have seen one before. Itseems like in this thread one was posted a good while back. I've seen them come up on the ebay from time to time, but they usually fetch close to 2 bills. That's a little out of my market.

Yes the real vintage ones do fetch a high dollar. The price would run many off, but if I could find one...it would be worth the price. Collectability.

Here is the widest knit tie in my collection (3 inches), which means it's likely from the early 70's. This one is a very rare tie, because it's entirely made from alpaca.

Circa 1970
Black Knit Tie with Gold Pattern
100% Alpaca
Alpacanit by Rooster
53" X 3"

Bought this in February 2017; this is what got me into knit ties.

Thought I'd post these pictures, because never before have I seen a Rooster tie labeled "Donegalnit". It's very neat they made this one look like Donegal tweed, as the name implies. I really wonder how many of these were made by Rooster...

I'm not much of a knit tie wearer these days, but I really like both of those, especially the Donegal one.

I had several knit ones back in the early 1980s, they were pretty popular back when I was in school, but all of them were just basic solid colors.

Thanks and Happy Holidays sir! I hope it finds you enjoying time with your kids.
Thank you, sir. It did. No ties for me, old or new, but the excited shrieking by my daughter's when they saw the Barbie house I got them was as great a gift as I've ever received. I hope 2019 is a bountiful year for you, and for all you guys. I'm going to make a resolution to find occasion to wear vintage neckwear more often.

Hello everyone, recently joined and would like to dedicate my first post, for sharing three of the pieces that make up my collection of approx. 70 ties and will be hopefully uploading photos of the rest soon, as I have free time to do so. All three were purchased from local Goodwill stores and I believe are from the late 50's or 60's. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this!) The tie on the far left, has no manufacturer label and was originally sold by "Smiths Clothing Company" in East Chattanooga, TN. The second, is labeled "Terylene by Ben Pulitzer, Woven in Vienna." and was sold in a Julius Lewis department store (I believe in Memphis). Last but not least, the third, which also bears no makers label.
