A Goodwill find today. Haband, mid-50s, hand-painted...excellent condition. But why only one vintage tie there????

yeah, I've seen a few of those "intact" knit kits.

On a similar subject, quite a few months ago I bought a bag of "printed quarter blocks" of tie patterns, and a bunch of patterns that use the printed blocks. Here're some of 'em. In the bag with them was a length of interlining material and silk-tip end material. The sports ones at the beginning give a good idea of how the pieces of the ties get cut.

They look like they'd make great pocket squares, though they're not silk.

More proof that vintage neckties can be had for a song here at Los Angeles thrift stores:

From the left: c. early-'60s Wembley (with unusual silver "wash" over motifs); c. late-'50s unmarked, hand-painted; c. mid-'50s unmarked, hand painted with glitter, and what looks like coralite (ground sand). All for 82 cents, tax included...

It's been a while since I contributed to this thread. Here are some recent finds. No labels on either tie.
Sorry for the poor quality of the photos.
