 ok.
Speaking of books, I just ordered Cowboy Ties by Hunter Montana. It cost me a whole $1.40. I'll let you know how it is when I get it.
Never heard of that one...What is it about, bolos?

Ok and? Did you find it?
Yeah sure bolos.
No. It is about handpainted ties, scarves and such. Maybe there are some bolos but that is not what it was sold as.
I've never heard of this one either. Maybe it's time to make our own......
I finally did, and it is the same tie!:eeek: (Although mine was put out by Kory Ties of California.) I think that this is the first time I've seen one of my neckties in a book...
Agree. Feraud had mentioned this about a year ago, making our own book, but getting more into the history of the manufacturers. I would like to see a book devoted to hand-painted and novelty ties.
Okay, got a chance to wear my new Wembley today.
Here's a tie I received from Baron Kurtz in a trade. No labels, looks mid-'50s, maybe rayon/acetate.
^^That's true, but that's why I indicated rayon/acetate (blend) rather than acetate alone.
I would hope that the blend would have been with nylon or acrylic. It will wear better.
^^^ I like the style Widebrim, it has a Van Gogh look to it with the waves and swrils.
It does have than Van Gogh look to it. Yours are both are nice, especially the one on the left. Here's mine for today:
c.Mid-'50s, pure silk, from Y'vel, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. I like the pattern, including the knot scheme. If you purchased it from Rodeo Drive these days, it'd likely cost at least $50...on markdown.
