Show us your TIES

No low opinion of you here, at all.

They look pretty legit. They definitely were around back then, although I'm guessing most likely not an everyday item. More like something you'd wear to a stag party (does anyone use that term anymore?)
They are pretty sought after by collectors these days, and often fetch a hefty price.

Also popular were "peekaboo" ties, which looked pretty sedate but had saucy pin-up ladies printed in the lining.

Here's a pic of the only example of a vintage pin-up tie in my collection. I posted it waaaay back, but here it is again for your enjoyment..

Thank you and wow, just another example of everything happened earlier than you think as I wouldn't have thought there'd even be a market for all but naked women on ties in the Era.

I get that everything - sex, drugs, drinking, etc. - was going on, but I thought it was hidden a bit more from view (and denied a bit more vigorously). I knew about the liner stuff, but somehow missed that some ties also had the women printed on the front.

I have a few of the risqué "novels" the era with the great cover art of scantily clad women (college coeds or "bad" girls from the neighborhood), but even those stop short of exposing as much as these ties do.
