Just picked this one up today. Apears to be deadstock. Looked up the patent number and it was filed in 1936, re-issued in 1938. Judging by the length, color and material of the tie, late '30s early '40s seems like the era it's from.

Today's neckwear and matching pocket square, bought NOS...No label, feels like rayon/acetate, c.mid-'50s. (No, there is no green in it; first photo is off.) Suit was a $10 find at a barrio Goodwill in L.A.; c.late-'50s, sold in Germantown, PA.

What a great deal on that suit Widebrim. I like that tie and with a matching pocket square it just makes the suit.

My problem with Goodwill finds is I have long limbs. So, I'll often find a jacket that fits nicely in the chest but then my arms hang down. I have had to walk away from $10 Brookes Brothers suits and other top name finds because of my long shanks.

Any guesses as to the vintage of this double-sided tie? The fabric looks 60s era to me and seems like cotton but it's pretty long for a 60's tie - 59". Also were double sided ties commercially made or is this likely a homemade tie? I'm not super fond of the prints but I'd never seen a reversible tie before so I had to pick it up.

^^It looks '70s, kahuna. I have an early-'50s tie which is reversible (as well as a slightly later one), and have seen drawings of others that go back to the 1920s.

Thanks, I was guessing it was from somewhere around there. I guess the reason double sided ties didn't go over to big is because you can see the different pattern from the back around the edges. Looks like of cheap.

From Mister Cravate of California, sold by Myers Whittier; feels like silk, c.late-1950s. I like the two-tone color scheme and the motif.

Yes, it is similar to Dali's work. I really dig the one on the left, though!

From today, no labels, feels like rayon/acetate, mid-'50s. When I was at a gasoline station, as another customer exited his car, he said to me, "I like that tie!" Nice to have someone notice a tie.
