I love old canoes. I have a cedar strip canoe & now two wood & canvas canoes. I bought this last one at a yard sale last spring. It's a 1920's Old Town wood & green canvas canoe. I intended to strip it down & restore it over last winter but didn't get the job done. So I'm going to try for this fall.

Here are pics taken the day I bought it, followed by a couple of Internet pics on how the ribs & cane seats should look when restored.

My mom has been asking me to look for a step through style bike for her for a while now. At 73, she’s having a tougher time getting her leg over the saddle on her old Specialized. This is just an internet photo of the model and color of hers, but it’s in similar shape. Knowing her, she’s probably out for a ride tonight.

I found a Seth Thomas rex similar to the one below at a thrift shop. It was Seth Thomas’s economy model priced at 12$ in 1921

The case is in good shape minus a small dent and the 89t movement is in really good condition and it had everything but the key. Whoever donated it put the bob in the botto of the case and the pendulum crutch in the holder so nothing got messed up when it was moved around. It was priced at a song so I had to get it. It is actually running well in the condition I found it in. I’m trying the car wax method on the case on mine to see how it polishes up.

Those are great finds, especially the GS pocket knife. I have the same type from my BSA days, only it has brown plastic grips and a BSA emblem. That badge is interesting too, seems to be an Australian Qantas airline employee bowling (the Brit version of grass bowling) club.

I recently sold the Quantas lapel pin and it's gone to a new home in Australia.
