This oak tool chest. Works great as a display case for some of my fishing reels and lures.

Just saw this. My father-in-law was a Tool & Die Maker & my wife is an only child. After he passed somewhat early I brought home his oak tool chest. I cleaned it up real good & lined the drawers with green felt from a pool table. Now my wife uses it as her jewelry box & it brings back fond memories for her.

My wife thrifted this heavy Sterling silver cuff today at Goodwill -- even got the Senior Discount! A late birthday gift for me.

Tagged as a shaving mirror, but I’ll hang a hat or two on it. Maybe a Panama to go with the bamboo theme.

I picked this up yesterday at a yard sale for nothing.
I literally mean nothing. When I ask the lady the price... she said I could just have it!!!

V1S5Ls.jpg

It was really dusty so when I got home to clean it, I found this under where the elk are standing.

O2GpZY.jpg

So I put it back into original shape.

IZbJLe.jpg

On another note. While not a thrift find, my cousin gave this to me this past week for my birthday.

N2Fvb0.jpg

It was made by my great grandfather who died in 1957. He would split cane and weave baskets and other things such as this.

AacLdy.jpg

He made it to use as a collection plate for the little Methodist Church I grew up in. I would think he made it sometime in the early 50s.

Those are great Rusty! Especially the collection basket made by your Great-Granddad!

I was looking for a vintage barn light and came across this beauty at the Nashville Flea Market last weekend. Its a vintage Crouse-Hinds explosion-proof fixture. I cleaned and rewired it this week and installed it in my shed. For $15 plus the cost of a 250W bulb, it's better than the retail fixtures they're selling for $50-$75. Like we've been saying in another thread, you can't beat a good quality vintage appliance or whatever for durability and ease of repair.
