That's what a lot of these are, I also have an anniversary clock which came over that way, too.

I remember around here in the 60s and 70s, steins were a dime a dozen at garage sales, because of all the military that were posted to Germany! Back then, for Army and Air Force personal, it was not a matter of if you were going to be stationed in Germany, just when. I wonder where all those steins are today?

I collect a lot of glassware and ceramics from the 1910's through to the 1960's. I spotted these vases in a Vinnies store. These vases are from the 1950's and I spotted one like this a few years back in an antique store where it was going for $120! I got these ones for $10 each. I love the blue glaze on the inside. There's a stamp on the bottom but it's only a number no factory unfortunately. I wonder if they were Australian made? To my mind looks like an abstracted art deco swan. I prefer this vase over the following one pictured because I love blue and the design is more interesting.

The second one has a bright yellow glaze on the inside, however I already put my brushes and pens in it for my desk and couldn't be bothered taking them out again. I'm not as fussed on this one but I figured they will make a nice sideboard set one day when I get my own place. I kind of want to get some 1960s Syroco wall mounts for them too and put them either side of my window as I have a very 1960's green wall and I think it would look very Hollywood Regency which is the vibe I have going for my room!

I also got these ties. The red one is contemporary as it has the current Givenchy logo on the back. The green one is from the 50s. The motif tie is from the 60s. Both produced by a local custom tie maker here in Sydney. $2 each!!!!! ( I bought another one not pictured but I forgot I already had one just like it plus it wasn't very vintage.) All silk.

Lastly a Fats Waller record for 1$, also purchased a 1960s record of *nostalgic* 1930's ballads. All this for just under $30, perhaps one of my most successful thrift store shops to date, and I've had plenty of luck in the past.

My wife spent 45 minutes digging around an un-air-conditioned annex to a flea market in a small town north of us in the 95 deg (F) heat. There was one more small room and, while she was "perspiring" a bit at this point, she made a quick loop through it. Good thing she is only 5'2" as she notices things on bottom shelves that I would probably miss. This time in a far corner of a bottom shelf she sees a familiar pattern and color.

What was tagged as a "brown tan decorative vase" may be an early 1900s Hopi pueblo pottery vessel. It's a little over 9" tall. I cannot find anything on the artist, so if any of you can help out it would be most appreciated.

Though a long time collector of RCN and RN items, I don't usually pick up the occasional US Navy item that crosses my path but I found this one in a local thrift store for a couple of dollars and couldn't resist it. It's the Navy yearbook for 1944 and the ads in it are terrific.

Nice find! Do you make quilts. I have great memories (and a couple of beautiful quilts) of my grandmother making them. My granddad would hang a big frame from the ceiling in a spare room and several ladies from the community would get together for 'quilting bees', and all help each other out making a stack of new quilts for everyone's homes.

Yes the guy knew it was "especial" but I managed to get him down to 18 Euros!.....the jacket cost me 4 IIRC?

I spotted these three in a craigslist estate sale ad and my wife did the leg work (90 mile round trip very early in the morning). The two larger necklaces were very nice (and old). She also nabbed a Nambe bowl advertised as "thick aluminum" and an old Hopi cylindrical vessel. The prices were very low (if you exclude the gasoline cost) and she is super excited.

I sew my own clothes, most of these are large enough for a dress or a skirt, a few can be blouses and the smaller pieces I use for facings and bindings. She had some great small pieces, as well as a number of quilt tops. I went back the next day and bought more (I justified this by cleaning out my closet and getting rid of two large bags of fabric...). I hope some quilters found the sale as well, I'm sure they would have been delighted. I know I was!
