Found a flea market booth with vintage bar glassware for 25-cents each. Then 20% on top of that. Didn't buy it all (no room), but did bring home a few.

Then, on a walk yesterday, I found a 13' logging chain buried in the dirt road. Can't have too many chains around here (constantly having to pull out the local meth-heads that try to cross the creek where the bridge washed out).

While out doing some thrifting I came across this interesting number. I get the feeling someone is either disappointed or quite relieved tonight when they didn’t get to wear this baby after their birthday dinner at their local Mexican place. Quite impressive and only 8 bucks! definitely a piece of art.

And then there was this sweater that is giving me a strange craving for Jello Pudding pops...

A Borsalino “Torino” hat, a large western bandanna and a couple tie bars.

I was pretty excited when I walked in the thrift store and saw a new rack of hats and a table of cowboy boots. Sadly the boots were all size 9 or 9.5 and the hats were 7-1/8 and 7-1/4. The western hats were straw, fur felt and wool and mostly Stetson (from the '70s and '80s I'd guess). They were priced pretty high for this small town thrift. The Borsalino was the cheapest one so it came back with me.

First flea of the year at the Northport farmers market today. I went in with $20 and after I bought all this unnecessary stuff I still had money left for a chicken sandwich and a coke on the ride home.

Possibly the best buck I spent today.
In 1754 the Acadians were driven by the British from their homes in the Maritime Provinces of Canada. Many of them found their way to the Louisiana Territory.
200 yeas later somebody marked the occasion by publishing this cook book. It's full of all kinds of traditional Cajun recipes. Some of them look delicious. Some, maybe not so much. I probably won't be fixing pickled shrimp or creamed tuna any time soon, but you better believe that some crawfish gumbo is coming up in the near future.

Been pretty quiet on this thread. I imagine there's not a lot of yard sales going on lately. How about a plain old yard find. No sale involved. My brother and I were poking around what's left of my great grand-parent' s old house and I found a couple of old jelly jars out back. After a little cleaning up I think they'll hold a little taste of whiskey nicely.
