Ivory & sterling silver. Pen & pencil set. London, 1901.

Manufactured by London jewelry firm Mappin & Webb (Est. 1775!).

Still going strong today.

Picked this up at a yard sale, couldn't resist! A trunk light emblem for a 1946-48 Plymouth Deluxe Special. I always liked these, with the Mayflower ship in the lens. I will probably have to put and LED light in it and display it!

French horse-racing binoculars.

Nickel-plate on brass. Bakelite (?) focus-knob (slightly chipped). Leather clad. Lenses slightly scratched. Age marks. But otherwise, in perfect working condition.

Date: Ca. 1900.

Marked with "Le Jockey Club - Paris" on the eyepieces.

Found this awesome jacket at Goodwill, 50% off:

Check out the details! Flapped patch pockets with pleats?! Belted action back?! Be still my heart! Even though it's a little big for me, how could I say no to this amazing vintage inspired jacket for only $7.99? I'm hoping for good things from the tailor. :D

Nice jacket, G&T. They've closed a few Goodwill stores here in Toronto, for some reason. There's still lots of thrift stores about, however. Here's a few recent finds:

A small Deco period creamer by H & K:

A middle eastern themed bowl from the '20's, in great shape, by the English firm of Thomas Lawrence:

A cockle shell bowl from the early '40's by the California firm of Metlox:

There was a whole pile of pickers...a veritable peck of pickers...in the thrift store when I spotted this one. It's made by Weller. Nothing more fun than beating the pickers to a find!

And lastly, a rummage sale find. I found it late in the day after most of the pickers had wandered off. Sometimes it pays to look a little more closely. It's a small bud vase by Roycroft. The glass tube is probably a replacement...but an old one.

Leica 35mm kit with several Leica lenses (not shown in this photo)

When I was in high school, I was fascinated with the German quality of these cameras.
But all I could afford was a reproduction Leica manual & instructions. It was very well reproduced.
Little did I know that someday I would own the same model camera as in the Leica manual.

Today, I went to the thrift store. I found a short sleeve (spearpoint collar?) shirt, and a box.

Here is the shirt. The shirt is made by Arrow, and the washing instructions are printed on the outside of the shirt (as seen in picture 3.) The shirt is made in USA. I plan on taking a picture of me wearing it soon.

Here's a box I got at the thrift store. I don't know what it is, and I don't know when it's from, but it does have a made in China sticker on the bottom. I doubt that it's any older than the 80s. Thing is, I didn't see the sticker when I bought it. I thought it may have been older. Either way, I like how it looks.

Why don't you go record another tune with your melodeon & wear this shirt.
Any song would be great. Sometimes I like to hear just one instrument & not
a lot of instruments like a band. It's very enjoyable & peaceful.
This is just a suggestion. Take care.
Thanks
