That was a great find! You did well.

The best part is that the sellers were mother and daughter and as I was walking away mother was arguing with daughter over letting the bus go for so cheap! :D:p

What size lens did you use to get this detail?

and on what type of camera if you dont mind...

Please dont say iphone !:p

I don't know what the lens size is but my camera is a Fuji Finepix AV.

Made a little road trip today and did fairly well. My best friend came along, who luckily knows what kinda stuff I like to buy, because he found about half the things I came home with.

No, I actually paid pretty good for some of the stuff. I actually have another white plastic one just like that. It resides in my parents garage and we listen to it on a regular basis.

My grandmother had a radio like that white plastic one. Good finds. Now how much did they all set you back? Knowing you, about $20. :p

What did the old Look and Life mags set you back?

I've paid upwards of five bucks a pop for certain desirable Life magazines, provided they're complete and in good condition. I prefer getting 'em for less than that, of course.

Man ... you have to ease up on the radios and phones. Gonna run out of room in that trailer to Tejas.
I have one old radio and won't buy more. Or I should say, if I do ... the other gets sold.

I know, I have a problem lol This place is packed to the gills. I plan on renting a semi, though, so I think it'll all fit. If I go, I plan on selling off all my furniture (besides the vintage stuff) so that'll save a lot of room, too.

I've pegged you as a minimalist, in the past, and I think I may be right lol

I would like to have gotten it all for that cheap, so we'll go with that lol

Pretty good must mean $40. :p

This is not a recent yard sale find, but I stumbled onto it while cleaning last weekend. It's a Linkert carburetor, which are not all that rare, however, this one is a M344, and under that is marked NYPD. This was a one year only model in 1944 when the government allowed Indian Motorcycles to fill civilian contracts for the overworked police departments around the country. So this one was made in 1944 for the New York City Police Department. I got it several years ago at a yard sale, the older gentlemen was impressed I new what it was, and gave it to me for free! Unfortunately, he did not have the rest of the motorcycle.

Got this nice lamp in form of a torch, has anyone any idea of how old this may be or if it belongs in any specific art movement? Any threads about lamps here on this forum?
