Show Us Your SPIRAL STITCH Vintage Fedoras

More specifically ... please show us your vintage pre-1960 felt or wool fedoras with concentric ‘spiral’ stitching around the entire crown and brim. This type of hat deserves its own dedicated thread.


People seem to either love ‘em or hate ‘em. I think they’re great: sporty as hell, and a natural with sportcoats. A nice bridge between more formal “gangster” fedoras and, um, “bucket hats”.

I would describe as a sort of burnt orange. The text describes it simply as orange. We have discussed the hat on several occasions. I'm sure that someone around here can supply the scan.

You might be right. It's the kind of thing we can't determine until evidence comes up -- like the lack of additional photo posts.
