Oxblood & cream spectators, I've changed the laces so many times. Originally they were black as in this photo, I have tried white and oxblood, all seem to suit the shoe, so now I simply mix and match with whatever else I'm wearing.

I tried to multi-quote with my last post and erred in some way. Clapping here sir!
It's quite easy to multi-quote. Just click reply to the posts that you want to respond to whilst you have the reply box open. Thank you for the compliments. These shoes, similar style to the oxbloods, are a rich brown and white spectator, you can see what they are teamed with here, just scroll down to the striped blazer. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/hawaiian-shirts-and-fedoras.36948/page-114

Workhorse Alden Wingtip Blucher These shoes have seen it all.

Sir; A classic quality shoe will always do the trick. Your shoes above, like many others you have posted, have a timeless look that I admire. A handful of classic and sensible shoes are the cornerstone of a mans wardrobe.

There are numerous styles of shoes out there, but what's great about being a man in 2018 is that you can do perfectly well by sticking with just a few of the classics. If you invest in a handful of sensible (and stylish) pairs and take care of them, you'll be set for years. A first step, IMO opinion, is a pair of wingtip blutchers, like yours, for what is "everyday casual workday attire."

I am typing this knowing I am speaking to a similar minded small numbered audience. The only reason I type the above is to recognize how Dianger's shoe post should be recognized as being a valuable contribution regardless of its vintage demarcation.

Love the shoes and the post sir.

Best, Eric -

Thank you, Eric. You are always so gracious and on point. Most of my shoes, hats, and clothing are contemporary purchases. I tend to have a classic sense of style: however, I can step outside of the traditional style box periodically. The reason I love this forum is that I have an opportunity to be exposed to and interact with people who truly enjoy sharing there passion for the sartorial art. Though I do not often collect vintage items, I enjoy and appreciate those who do. My time here in the lounge has certainly been an education. Looking forward to your next post.

Good day folks. I would like to share the excitement of a new to me) shoe morning.

Introducing my new Johnsonian mesh/leather shoes.

This vintage pair of 1940's shoes is in truly gently worn condition. The black/white-silverish mesh is pristine and in its own right flashy. When I hold the shoe and move it back and forth the white/silver catches your eye. I am very curious to wear it in the evening and see what occurs. The leather on the upper is also pristine. Time will tell if the original heels will last. I see some chipping after my morning errands.

Arriving in the morning gave me an opportunity to condition the leather, soles and interior with Cadillac Conditioner. I applied liberally until no more could be absorbed. After sitting for a while I wiped the excess off, brushed hard the uppers and stitching to remove any detritus and then went to work applying Alden black shoe creme. It was very detailed work to apply the shoe creme. After the polish was dry I polished with a cotton cloth and then brushed vigorously. Again time to dry. Then went to work with the Saphir Gloss Polish. A dab of water on a clean cotton cloth and applying small amounts (circular patterns) to the toe area and heel. Polish with microfiber and then brush. I only did two applications of the gloss. The edge dressing I have comes with a big swab on the end of the dabber. I used a plastic guide to make sure that no excess got on the shoe. I have been tempted to pick-up some very small paint brushes. Today has convinced me.

To my eye these more casual shoes would look out of place with a really high gloss shine. Gloss works for me.

Johnsonian mesh/leather, wow, pretty interesting spectators. You can have a lot of fun matching those shoes with different outfits.

Hi, Here's a pair of True Fit sandals, not sure of date, either 1940s or 50s. If any body has any information on these would be great. All leather with wooden heels, very sturdy.

No information on the maker, but those are some fine sandals. Never heard of wooden heels, sounds rather bizarre. Maybe these will hold up better than rubber heels? Wear these with pride, Michael.

Eric, I've been waiting for you to share more vintage shoes! These are a cut above the rest! Pretty versatile colors too, I've really warmed up to non-white spectators. I'd see how long you can last with the original heels. My 1940's specs's heels have endured a lot thus far, and I will get them replaced when I absolutely need to. You just need to hope they don't just crumble upon an important commute

Yes, the small paintbrush technique works for me. It’s a good idea.

That's an incredible pair of shoes - great find. Also, your refurbishing work was worthy of Luvmyman and her incredible knowledge of such things.

Enjoy and wear them in good health.

Might be the finest shoes I have ever laid eyes on. You really have fantastic taste in your footwear. What's the story on these shoes? Maker? Source of purchase?

EDIT: Silly me, you said Nunn-bush as the maker.
