I don't think I have ever seen one of those! It would not be hard to make; you would just need to drill the pieces! And find the pieces, first...great score!

JBD that necklace is so cool!
As for our closets and black dresses, you're right, we can never have too many! We can never have enough piled on the dresser and the floor either:eek:

I had a good night on ebay. Firs I won this Marilyn Monroe swimsuit from the 80's. I know, not all that vintage, but the label is supposed to be pretty cool and it does have a copy of her signature on the collar lol. Here's the link if you're interested in seeing why the suit was made. I really like the collar and the low back.

I also won this very cute lavendar swimsuit, and for only $10.50. I know, not quite the $10 club, but it's definitely close! It's got some fading, but it seems to actually not look that out of place. I'll have to see it in person, but I'm trusting the seller and her description.

Babydoll, if we can find the parts, I would be happy to do so! I have made others similar; they aren't that hard. It's just finding the chain that can be challenging.
Thanks for noticing my sig...it is a reference to my lifelong love of 50s music. I love doo-wop!

Thanks ladies! I'm very very happy about my suitcases... and they were a steal! Three for forty-five bucks including shipping, all with keys, in AWESOME condition! And the lining is so priceless. Great color.

So sorry to disappoint, Daisy and Ohairas, but my journey is not nearly as exciting as my awesome vintage luggage would indicate. Flying to Houston next week to meet the boyfriend's parents. (Anyone know anything cool to do in Houston???) The next journey will be better though - going to the Austin City Limits festival in the fall. What is a New England girl doing going to Texas for both of her vacations??? :)

Timorous, As a dealer of vintage clothing I buy these old suitcases to put my inventory in. I have one for lingerie that is so pretty and white with red satin inside, one for everyday wear and one for aprons and so on. It is hard to find really mint ones.
Great for you to find matching ones in such great condition.

I live about 60 miles north of Houston so be sure to bring clothes for summer as it has been in the 80s lately and bring rain gear as it has been raining alot lately.
Houston has a ton of stuff to do and see depending what you are into.
If you are close check out the Kemah Boardwalk.

or North Houston has the Woodlands Waterway.

Wow! What fabulous findes everyone!
Daisy I am loving the dancer print dress.
And JBD you always find the most wonderful stuff!!!

Congrats on the pregnancy GoldLeaf!

I am not soposed to be buing anything right now but I couldn't resist this vintage 30's fabric. I've got 5 yards so it will make a great dress!

I bought two pairs of shoes today and four pairs of vintage panties (the biker shorts kind, I can't think of the proper name for them).

Anyhow, here is one pair of shoes that I bought. I am hoping to find some vintage goodies this weekend yard saling and at Brimfield on Sunday.
