So funny, because I actually hang new dresses I love on the door of my wardrobe so that I can see them when I wake up or just walk into the bedroom. And my hubby always complains about losing me in shops because I have stayed back to stroke something or feel the fabric/leather/etc.

I'm a fabric stroker too! Fabric, textiles, dishes, furniture... I have to touch it. My boyfriend will stop in a shop, make exagerated hand movements over a garment or furniture, look at me and say, "Ok, who am I??" Thinks he's clever, that one.

I missed out on getting a pair of gorgeous chartreuse shoes on Etsy but these turquoise beauties have more than made up for it:

I meant to ask you ladies a question or two - I haven't been lucky with vintage shoes size wise (nearly always too small - I really hope these fit!!!!!!) but I was wondering about comfort - on the whole do you ladies find vintage shoes comfy - and also if they are in good condition do they last? What I mean is - you haven't found yourself on a night out and the heel has snapped or something like that?

Hey there Miss G, i have the same probs with shoes, usually too small!!! When i have been lucky i have to say i am careful and i've not had any accidents thus far. I always take mine to the shoe menders and get him to put them on the shoe stretch as i find the width is always a little snug for me even if the length is correct. I just acquired a lovely pair of black courts, similar to yours and i put a gel in-sole in, as they were ridiculously uncomfortable, even though they were my size. I wore them for one night out and it was agony!!!

Sweater made from a 1940's pattern. I am gonna make shoulder pads or sleeve stiffening to make it look more 40's.

OT, but have you seen the dolls Tonner has of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford? They're pricey but look gorgeous! There's some new lovely Gowns By Anne Harper dolls, too. So pretty!

That is a stunning shade of aquamarine.

Hey Miss Sofia! Glad to hear that to date you haven't had any heels snap on you or any such disasters! I'm usually ok with the width of the shoe but I find it hard to find UK6 size in 50's shoes - all the gorgeous ones are for much smaller feet (that's why I'm raging that I didn't snap up the chartreuse ones when I had the chance!!!!!). I'm with you on the gel in-soles - I think they make shoes so much tighter - I once tried to wear them with a sandal only for the gels to start flapping out of them like some weird tongue! Not a good look!

My little girl is doing so well thanks! X She just started walking on Sunday - couldn't believe my eyes! She'll keep me fit running after her! She's a year old next month and I have no idea where the year went to!

I just found this book yesterday for £0.80 (yes, that is 80 pence!) online and promptly bought it. Shipping was about £10, but considering it just sold today for £200 on Ebay and is generally listed for £200-400 I seem to have lucked out. It hasn't arrived as it's coming from the US, but I am soooo excited!

I also got these belts recently:

and hubby got me a beautiful brown leather one today but I have no picture.

And these two cardigans, the green one I bought years ago in cream and wear it so often, so was looking for the same cream one but was delighted to find it in my size in green. It's very 40's IRL, with puff sleeves and great details.
