Another Etsy find - a Mr. Blackwell sheath dress - love it's simplicity:

I got these earrings from the junky type tray in a little antique shop and the 1950's brooch is exactly the same as one I was given to play dressing up with as a kiddie but which went missing, so I was very excited to stumble across this one in the same shop.

Hehe, it is very cute! I thought it was the best thing I had ever seen when I was little and had forgotten about it until I saw it again and felt like I had gone whooshing back in time! I actually felt a little jittery!

I can imagine. Sometimes, when you find something from your childhood, be it an item, a song, a smell, it just touches you in a special way. Congratulations to your find!

Oh , what are you up to now Miss G, very nice vintage LBD , you really are a roll.

Thanks Paul - you can't go wrong with a nice LBD - I'm hoping this one is as nice as it looks in the photo - if so, it will be one to keep for my little girl (I've already amassed a lot to give to her! ;)).

I bought a box of 'assorted junk' from an old closed down store that turned out to contain

some art deco- looking buttons

And 4 unopened packages of bobby pins, one made by Gusum in Sweden and the other 3 are of a brand called Mermaid and made in England.

ETA: oops, forgot that there was a package of knitting needles as well.

It's all in mint condition of course so it was a bargain since I only paid 30SEK!

Twoo out of four purchases of today. The hat cost me 10€, the Frohne pantograph and the patterns cost me 8€ all together. It goes for far more on the web so I made a little bargain :)

Sorry I don't have a pic as yet to show you my prize purchase at Twinwood. I picked up an original 1940's white tux for just £20. I have been in the market for one of these for ages, almost had one made to measure. This trader had three, my wife saw it on the first day, asked me if I was prepared to pay £100 for it, possibly, it was good. Still couldn't make my mind up, on the Monday morning the trader was packing his stock into his van, the tux was still on display, I looked at it again and put it back on the rack. The guy said: "Make me an offer," "Twenty pounds," I said, expecting derision. "I paid sixty for it," he said, "and have not been able to sell it in eight months. I'll take your twenty, if you are serious." The twenty pound note was in his hand before he could change his mind. "It's been a really good weekend for me," he volunteered, "that's why I let you have it so cheap. just need to shift it. One of those things, I will either sell it straight off, and make a good profit, or be stuck with it." Still can't believe my good fortune, if he had said will you give me fifty, he would have probably persuaded me.
