It was bought from a VFG member in a local shop so I pretty confident on the date , I cannot find a label so just wondering if any one could add any more info or if it reminded them of any they see or sold

and at the same time I bought this hat again the label has been cut out

Since I started wearing vintage, I gave up wearing jeans. I think the modern bleached / used look can't really be combined with vintage and I can't afford Freddies and the like. But - this year, unbleached denim has a comeback, and pretty high waisted, too!
So I got these affordable capris and a matching blue-with-tiny-white-dots shirt to go Rosie-style.

Now, what shoes to wear with this?? I really have no idea, I only can say that I want comfortable ones, so pin-up high heels are out of the question.
I'm also unsure if that brown thick belt is a good combination.

I think your look is adorable! Nothing wrong with the brown belt either - brown and blue work just fine and won't visually chop you up into three sections say, as a bolder color might (depending on the rest of your outfit). What do you think of these shoes with your capris? They're by Remix (and they come in green, brown and yellow too) but Aris Allen has a more affordable look-alike version too.

Thanks for the compliment and for the recommendation. I thought about red wedges, too. These are really nice but too expensive for me. Maybe I'll find similar ones at a smaller price at my local shoe dealer.
Do you think red ballet flats might do as well?

I wear ballet flats with my capris, I am not sure that it is a typical vintage look but it looks nice :) Sometimes I wear espadrilles with them too.

Yes, I agree that those are quite nice to be worn with capris in general.
Just that I'm not sure if it's the right combination for a Rosie style which is (as far as I know) rather a kind of a worker style.

what do you think of these boots?

Maybe boots really would be the best, but since it's summer and work boots are hard to combine with any other outfit, keds might be the best compromise.

Since my week-end festival was just cancelled, I'll have enough time to find the perfect shoes. :eek:hwell:

Love the outfit, Wahine! I agree, it's hard to find decent affordable jeans with a vintage spin.

When I do jeans for a casual vintage look, I like wedges or saddle shoes. Flats too, like someone else had pointed out.

Katinka, thanks for the link. I really like those espandrilles, but it seems they don't have my size at the moment. Maybe I'll find similar ones, I really like the idea.

Something else came to my mind: I have some sandals that I never wear because the color is "uncombineable" for me. How about coloring these red and wearing them to the capris?

The jeans are from C&A (ladies department).
They are really nice, but need some touch-up: the cuffs are very narrow, so I changed that; they were attached to the leg with only a few stitches. You should also know that they have some sequins on the butt pockets. Not a lot, but maybe you'd want to get rid of those. I'll probably do that.

If you get a pair, be sure to
get one size smaller than you actually need, they get bigger because of the elasthane.

Cool, a friend of mine works at c&a, so I might even get a discount :D. And I think the sandals will work very well with the capris, even if you don´t dye them. They look like a nice shade of pink on my screen.

I then got a matching saucer hat

And a sailor sweater for cooler evenings and autumn

Must have been good luck all along, because apart form the long coveted dress I also found and won these two patterns, which had been on my wishlist for ages

I love the postcard dress too Drappa! And the McCall pattern looks like a particularly flattering cut.

I picked up this little number from Trashy Diva:

I got so many compliments on this dress, even from my boss! The rayon washes well too.

I loooove Trashy Diva, and that print in particular! Although they say dry clean only I always handwash TD dresses and they always come out nicely. Great dress!

Good to know! Do they need ironed or steamed after handwashing or do they come out fine? I have several dresses and 2 skirts from there and have never thought about it as I've only worn one more then once (aka only one has needed washed)... oddly enough the dress in my profile picture...
