I've been watching this skirt at a local shop for almost a year now and just couldn't resist any longer! It's knit from a fingering weight angora blend. Although I wore it to church as a skirt, I'm thinking it may actually be a winter petticoat based on the waistband. The waistband is knit from a cotton crochet thread. It's very warm and comfy though! Has anyone seen one like this before? Thoughts?

1930s dresses!

Wow everyone, I'd like to raid each and every one of your wardrobes.
BoPeep, that pink knit skirt is especially adorable... it looks like candy!

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I acquired two 1930s dresses at my favorite antique haunt; they were so cheap I couldn't say no.

This one'll have to wait 'til summer, but it was $10 and I doubt it's ever been worn-- it's like new! The label says "Mme Renaud Frocks"... anyone heard of her/them?

I couldn't quite capture the wonderful detailing on this black one; I'm afraid it looks quite dowdy and dejected on the hanger, but it's rife with artfully placed seams and darts that make it come alive on a person. It has some moth damage around the hem, but luckily I think I can give it a little trim and re-hem without sacrificing much of the original silhouette.

I love these buttons-- they are brown and used to have a black paint coating, but it's all chipped away, leaving them with a tortoise shell look!

Thanks, FooFooGal; good to know I saved $185 :D

Drappa and BoPeep, thank you!! I don't know if I can wait 'til spring to wear it... the temptation is great.

I recently got these vintage inspired pants on the bay

...got to make some alterations to fit but they look better on me than I expected (being much shorter and wider than the model in the pic).
