Now I have two vintage watches! Yay!

That 60s Dior hat looks so rich in colour - all this cute stuff everyone is getting is making me want to go do some shopping (well for vintage stuff, anyway).
I am in love with that watch. I want to marry it.

Christmas Present

My fiance and I stopped at my favorite store in Salem on our way back home from Portland. It's a rockabilly/vintage repro. shop and we became friends with the owners. Anyway, my guy surprised me and said to pick out a dress and that would be my Christmas present. I ended up getting a dress from the Bettie Page clothing line. I loved the shoulders on it, and I thought it made my waist look slim. I think I'm going to wear it for Christmas even though it's navy and white. I'll pair it with red heels.
Here it is:

Christy- are you talking Cherry red? and Nina? :) she is a doll!!

I am! I just adore Derek and Nina, they are the nicest people! :) We didn't get to see Nina last night, but Derek was there. I did one of the pin up classes taught by go go Amy, and Nina was in the same class. Then both Nina and I were in the same fashion show, so we got to know each other better then. I love their store, I always have so much fun when I go in there.

I got this on ebay and I asked for a similar frame for Christmas. This one has a photo of Myrna Loy and the one I hope I am getting has a photo of Claire Trevor.

Zendy, it's a good thing you don't live anywhere near me. I would have to hunt you down and steal them right off your face! Where did you find them?

Not a purchase, but got an amazing vintage christmas present.
1½-2 years worth of womens magazines from the early 1930s made into a huge book (i.e they have all been bound together and have been made into a hardback...) and then 5-6 1940s magazines which have amazing covers....

Should I post pics here or do you think I should make seperate thread??
Or, do we have an X-mas thread perhaps?

I'm new so, unsure where your lovely gift should best be displayed. I will say it sounds like a very thoughtful gift. Someone obviously understands your love of the Golden Era and put forth some effort to make a wonderful gift. I can't wait to see some of it!

Well, I'm sort of embarassed to admit that I went shopping for vintage on Christmas. My family celebrates on the Eve and we all just chill in our own homes on Christmas Day, sooooo...left to my own devices...What else would a vintage newbie want to do??? To me. From me. Awwww, I shouldn't have!

A more casual dress, good for late summer and early fall.

A Koret wicker basket purse. I believe the seller said this was 60's. It certainly reminded me of a brown version, little girl's purse I used to have.

A Dofan navy leather bag, and a bargain to boot! (Special thanks to FL ladies for turning me on to this name. Prior to reading a thread here, I had no idea Dofan existed.) Now all I need are navy heels a blouse and gloves and I will have completed my Navy suit outfit.

Art Deco brooch

HPIM4594.jpg

Ca. 1925-1930 Art Deco brooch marked Tcheco Slovaquie. No other marks, so probably not silver. I bought it for 12 euros from an on-line seller. Very festive!

These are an xmas present to myself, having large size 10 feet (UK) and been very tall it is hard to find genuine vintage stocing in my size, a dealer can up trumps with a quantity of size 11 and 12 rht seamless 60's stocking most new/ old stock so I jumped at the oppatunity of buying a good stock ( 16) pairs for myself hopfully they should last a while.

They said it'is a lizard bag from the 50s and in so good conditions, that it's almost new!

Inside there are also a purse and a mirror, everything wrapped with paper.

I'm so happy to have found such a jewel! Now I have to choose the right outfit to carry it on my shoulder!!!

Ciao,
B.

This is probably unused dead stock if it's all wrapped up. Maybe earlier than the 50s....
