I found these two beauties in an Oxfam store in Dublin on Monday, absolutely thrilled because I've been looking for a nice wiggle.

Bettydarling...I see why you got BOTH. I kept scrolling up and down trying pick a favorite of the two to comment on. Couldn't do it, lol. They are both fabulous. I love the shot of red at the waist, nice touch.

MissGoLightly...That coat is STUNNING! I'm glad you indulged yourself.

This is my latest vintage purchase, a very cute vinyl case with a pair of seamed ff nylons in it.
I have a pair of stockings that came in one of those vinyl bags. It is a pair of platinum metallic stockings, no seams, from the 60s or maybe earlier. The vinyl bag is from the department store (Spanish one that doesn't exist anymore), and they were given as a gift/sample. I can take a pic if you want.

These were given to my mom in the 70s by an old lady, and she gave them to me. I made a ladder in one of them in the 90s though :( I kept them because I would like to have them repaired if possible (I remember when I was a child in Spain, there still was a lady that re...weaved? stockings, on top of a lightbulb  I wonder if this is still done anywhere?)

What fantastic finds! The first really reminds me of a suit Dita Von Teese was photographed wearing not too long ago. I haven't been in Oxfam for a long time - must check it out again!

I have been after a 1940's princess coat for ages and finally went and bought this Lilli Ann beauty:

Miss Golightly, that is truly a stunning garment. No wonder it's called a "princess" coat - I'd certainly feel like one in it. *sigh* I spotted it on Etsy too, but sadly, four of those coats are equal to my mortgage payment, so my admiration of it remained at a (wistful) distance.

I love auction houses!

Found this fab makeup case at our local auction house this week - won it and a navy 50's raffia handbag together for a ridiculously cheap price.
Found the screen time mags at a little second hand bookshop for less than the price of coffee and cake!

Thank you Lily - I had a good think about it before purchasing it and reasoned that the Euro v USD exchange was so good it would be criminal to not go ahead and get it - coats like this one are so hard to come by!

Medvssa, C-dot and Lorena B - thank you so much - I should have it by next week - can't wait to try it on!

Some of my purchases this week.
A lovely 1940's dressing gown, that I would like to wear as an evening gown (any ideas about styling up?), Navy hat (£10) to go with my sailors trousers at Rhythm Riot and some new vampy leopard print shoes (£5 in the sale).
I also bought a Samsonite Black Label Trunk Attache (80% off, but still £69), as a birthday present to myself (40 ;)).
