I'm doing the happiest little dance round my house. My Swirl dress is here, and its immaculate and fits perfectly and I love it! I can't believe it's 20 years older than me, it honestly could have just came straight out of the shop! I think I've been very lucky with this one :D

Photos!!! :D

I'm thinking to actually wear it to the dance on Saturday, since really I wanted a nice simple cotton dress to sweat away in...:D but what if it breaks on me?

Lovely dress, cd! Does it seem flimsy? If not, wear it dancing, why not!

I agree. As long as it has enough ease for dancing, I say double check those seams for sturdiness and give it a go. I find that synthetics seem much more likely to cut through their threads than cottons, but it's best to double check before vigorous use! ;)

I've worn my vintage dancing as well and with a good once over prior to wearing it, i felt fine about it.

I have re-sewn seams in many a vintage dress in the past just to reinforce stress points. But there is nothing you can do about thin fabric, especially in places like across the bust or backside, and under the arms where things wear out sooner.

Give it a good going over and I say wear it with happiness and dance the night away!

thank ladies I'll make sure I give it a thorough check; it seemed sturdy enough but then I keep finding holes in it - which I didn't see at purchase, in all that pattern, otherwise would have haggled more lol ! Also the top half is very fitted, so hmm...

This dress looks so perfect on you! You'll look lovely dancing across the floor in it.

My latest purchases are:

1920s Light Pink Dress to wear to a wedding in September

Edwardian corset cover

I've also bought a few collectable late 60s/early 70s pieces, but I think I'm the only one on this forum who is passionate about this era.

I'm not "passionate" about the time, but boy do i love me some hippies and platforms >_< lol
all my life my dad's been wearing levi's "big bell" jeans so [huh] along with jefferson airplane and miss joplin I'm rather hooked, though i think (I'm the only one who loves disco)

You aren't the only one who loves disco! I have a love with something from every decade, be it bustles or bellbottoms!

(ps. DISCO RULES!)
