concerned about fit. never bought a vintage dress before. its always been other things, mostly slips. this by the measurements given by the seller will be a bit big but I am new at this! Have to start trying stuff on, right?

You will have the best results if you measure items that you already own and use those measurements as a guide.

These patterns. I have a copy of the Pinafore pattern but this one is closer to my size.

I got some of those wave clips on ebay too - if you figure out how to use them let me know

I did a sort of "lesson" a while back on how I used them (my interpretation anyways lol ), but I'm having a hard time finding it. However, I do still have the photos up on my photobucket, so if you'd like, I would be more than happy to link you or such.

Swing kitty- very cute and moreover, it looks like a great outfit for the summer!

That would be great Adele! My hair isn't too terribly long right now and it's probably a good time to give it a whirl.

thanks!!

Deadpandiva you have a twin? How cool is that! You're very generous, twin or not I'm not sure I could give this dress away:

I love the collar! ^What's that type of collar called? (If I'm not mistaken, the collar on the first cute dress is called peter pan.)

Thank you girls!! I wear 4+ inch heels every day so I am used to it. The trick is to walk a bit slow and take shorter steps, it used to drive my old boyfriend crazy, even though I tried to explain that I walk like a lady. But I can run pretty fast in most of my heels if I need to. These babies are definitly going on tonight!

EDIT : Oh, they are in satin, a better pic of the fabric will be in the 'what are you wearing' thread shortly.

Gees, I'm all mixed up!:p The dress I liked best is the one you bought for yourself, the second one! Great that you'll be getting it in leaf green, since you love green dresses (just like me). I still haven't learned the names of every shade of green though; "leaf", I'm not sure of...

sissexsix- that's an adorable dress.
cherry lips- That dress is a little to small for me so that makes it a little easier to give it away.
What's the collar called on the top runway dress? (nag, nag)

I've never really been into jewelry and don't really know how to accessorize. However, I've come to realize that I need to step out of my comfort zone. Yes, the pearls go with everything, BUT...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. There are even matching earrings. I got the set for $6.

what a deal!! that's a very sweet necklace! I love jewelry, mostly I wear Taxco style silver jewelry (my mom loves to go to Mexico) and old silver pieces I've had for years. I never thought to branch out to pretty girlie things but maybe I should!

Here's to being a magpie for shiny things!

I love little plastic sets like that. In going through an old sewing box of my grandmothers I found a broken necklace that is a similar made of plastic beads and flowers. I just need to figure out how it goes back together.
