These are gorgeous! Have you posted pictures of your dress somewhere? I'd love to see it.

I recently purchased a late 1940's/1950's navy blue dress. I'd put photos up but don't have a digital camera at the moment. Looking forward to wearing it except might have to get the collar relined. I guess it devalues the dress, but it will look a bit fresher having it fixed up. Not sure yet. Not too sure of the fabric either so too be on the safe side will get it to a professional dry cleaner. fingers crossed!
I was also lucky to find an Australian WW2 ladies Naval jacket with the belt and all. Absolutely NO holes. I can't believe it and fits me without having to alter it. I get annoyed sometimes I have to alter most of my things.
Everyone has such nice things they've bought. This is such a great thread :)

catsmeow - I know how you feel about altering... I struggle with it sometimes too. I guess with each vintage garment I own I have to either mentally decide "It's Mine" now or not. And if It's Mine, then I go ahead and make it mine - alter it, mend it, wash it, wear it. There are some things that are too precious to really be Mine - they belong to the Ages and I keep them carefully. But mostly, I feel the clothes want to Be Mine and have a life with me :)

OOoo I love red things - nice items, KittyT and MissBrill!

And gorgeous gown, lyburnum!

My weekend purchases (Oh how I love purses). The slip is for a photoshoot.
I collect the buildings - So cheesy on the marble I couldn't resist.

Some beautifully beaten-up 40's jeans for when i am feeling a little hillbilly
And this cute beaded cardi - I always struggle to find these in my size so I'm pretty chuffed with this:

I purchased from Brini Maxwell off the bay. I used to watch her show. I can't remember what channel it was on? Style channel maybe? I am a sucker for all things matching. I just hope it fits when it arrives.
