Today's acquisitions

Not sure whether to post here or in the "Thrift shop finds" thread, appropriate to both I guess.

First up: RM Williams trousers. Ten (Australian) dollars, barely used. I really wanted something like these, the only problem is they're size 32 and I'm a 30, but for $10 I couldn't resist. They fit OK, not too baggy, quite wearable, but one size down would have been perfect. (I know; gift horse, mouth, etc.)

Next up, Pierre by Winestock shoes. $6. All leather, made in Poland of all places. Perfect fit, a little wear but plenty of life left in them. I'll give them a bit of a cleanup before wearing, they're quite dusty.

Hollywood waist trousers

Here are some Hollywood waist trousers I purchased not too long ago on ebay. They were New old stock, never worn with the tag still on them.

The seller said they were from the 1940s.

Those split toes are beautifully made. The stitching is very fine and awesome quality. Could you identify the manufacturer for the Lounge please?

Yes; Here are a couple of close ups on the heel and inside markings. Could you please tell me more about them? The fella that sold them to me only said they were from the 50's.

It's been about 10 years, since I've wanted a jacket like this.

Only for the last few years, have I know about certain brands, fits, details and what not.

But I finally have a Schott Perfecto...

It's from the 1980's, of course I'd love to find a 1950's-60's perfecto in this condition... But I do not have $5XX+ to throw away on one single thing.

Today I bought this non-stiff collar (the stud was already mine), sadly I had my hopes too high up. I knew it was too white to be over 100 years old since it is not starched and is missing company name and the size. Even at the store I asked about if this is new.

- I don't know but it is definitely not from 2005!

Well at home I googled that name in the tag and learned that he is an actor. In 2005 he was in a play called "Oväder" (Storm), written by August Strindberg in 1907. So this had to belong to him and his character during that time.

Or then it has happened a coincidence with extremely small chances and this really is from 1905.

Lesson learnt: You cannot always be lucky!

Oh well, at least I now have a collar (which has belonged to an actor). It is 7cm(~2,75inch) high. Not vintage but nice. I paid 15$ 60c for it.

There are still some women's stuff that I didn't post here. Maybe in the women's equivalent thread...

Oh yeah, these are all deadstock.

And yes: I love Finland for vintage :p

It is darker though and would maybe need cleaning, any idea how?
