I really enjoyed combining my costume with bike riding this year. But even so I didn't get in ENOUGH parties or costume rides. I missed a few. (Did get in THREE rides, half a party.) Next year! Anyway, I was kind of a "League of Extraordinary Peddlers" sort of Allan Quatermain dude cum Steampunk. I wore a CAPE on the rides, which was a smash-hit because it really did do all the great cape action -- but I forgot to put it on for this pic, so I lamely photoshopped it in here. I did do a costume cyclocross race -- a classic kind of bike race.

My husband and I went as Mad Men's Don and Betty Draper.

I scored big time at Goodwill — found a sleeveless collared day dress with a full skirt, skinny belt, white leather handbag, gloves. Wore bright red lipstick, a headband, 60s ‘do, heels, thigh-high hose, and button earrings. Smoked the whole evening… I was hanging out with my ex, after all.

Don wore a black fedora from Panador Hats and a skinny tie from Express.

We won an ugly black cat serving bowl in a costume contest.

It was a fun night -- especially as I love vintage fashion.
