I think I've gotten my hairstyle down to where I like it--kind of a 30-ish hairstyle, but today I decided to darken my hair color a bit. Since I have vitiligo (That's where my body attacks the pigment cells in my skin and I'm losing my skin color, not at once, but in patches. :( And no sun protection either.) and its starting to invade my face  I've been wanting a haircolor that will enhance my skin tone and I think the stark blonde I had been sporting made me even more washed out.
So girls, what do you think?

BonnieJean, I think the color looks beautiful on you! What are you using to cover your vitiligo right now? Your skin looks very even and the tone is nice. Looks great!

it really looks good.... for the patches, there is a coverup by igia that really covers well, i used it for scars i had on my back when i got married, and it covered great, and didnt wear off with sweat and stuff. http://www.coolstuffontv.com/health/instantcover.htm

be_lovely, some places I have very large areas of white. You can kind of see one area just below my neck in the photo. I've tried Dermablend but it doesn't seem to make that much difference unless I really cake it on. The link you gave seems interesting, but it says it's not available. I usually have a hard time trying to match my pigmented areas with the non-pigmented areas, even Dermablend doesn't have an exact match. Currently, I've had better luck with Max Factor coverstick to help even stuff out on my face. The vitiligo is just starting on my face, so its not that noticeable yet. In real life, you can see my imperfections, but the photo I took doesn't look too bad. But, hey, women ALWAYS notice their own flaws, when maybe they're really not that bad.

I've given up on finding something that will give me total coverage without feeling like I'm wearing a mask. I've just accepted that this is who I am and ignore the stares I sometimes get. (Some people just think I've been a victim of a fire.) But now that I wear vintage/vintage-inspired clothing and seamed stockings, most people don't even notice my skin discolorations. :)

My hubby of nearly 26 years still loves me for who I am and that's what counts. ;)

You look great

I love the style and the color is perfect. It warms up your skin tone and if you are having pigment issues, it really doesn't show.

Great colour BonnieJean!

I recently changed my hair colour too as I got sick of the black. It's now a dark red. I got a Bettie Page type fringe cut, then regretted it and have been playing around with it, and I actually like having the front short now, gives me more volume! Though rolls might prove difficult. I have been setting it a lot with my hot sticks - here's a recent pic, sadly I shut my eyes, doh!

Bonnie, you look great! I once knew a young man with vitiligo pretty badly. He was darker/olive complected to start with, so his white spots really showed up. He was covered in them. And ya know what, Dan was amazingly cute! And his personality just made him shine. I never saw his skin disorder, he was too much of a good person for that to be what I saw of him :)

Fleur, you look adorable/gorgeous, as always!

And Lolita, your hair in the other thread is just too cute, I love it!

That is so funny! When I saw the trailer for Win a Date with Tad Hamilton I almost fell out of my chair. I was like "Holy cripes it's ME!"

Especially since I had similar hair at the time.

Anyway I take that as a compliment. She's adorable!

Spoolies rock!

Well, I had a bit of a hair-do disaster at the weekend. I used metal dinky curlers on my hair. (Thick, curly)
As soon as I tried to part the curl all I got was a whole heap of frizz!!!!
Ended up having to roll the back and sides.
Anyone else tried them?

Finally found myself a pink dahlia for my hair. Talk about a painful experience trying to find a pretty pink dahlia to make a hair clip!

Anyway, I have two now this dark pink one and a lighter pink one, so I can live up to my namesake. :D

I just got my hair done in fingerwaves today as my personal work for the week at school! I love it:)

p.s. sorry for the giant pics...and my strange lipcolor lol (I put on some lip stain very quickly...apparently it was thicker in some spots)
