I am a long time lurker and I've finally have the guts to share some of my hair do's with you guys. I love all ya'lls hairstyles and hope I can be as awesome as you guys! Here are some examples of what I've been doing with my own hair.

Hey Cutiepie! I especially like the first style, it really suits you :) Very pretty indeed. How did you do it?

I just did a hot set with hot rollers. Using my large hot rollers on the crown of hair and then the smaller ones towards the bottom. Unfortunately, my hair is so thick that one set of hot rollers doesn't work for all of my hair so I used curling iron for what was left on the bottom and then used pin curl clips to hold them in that setting until cool to the touch. Followed by lots and lots of teasing and brushing. :D

Shebear, that apple net is .. I'm sort of speechless. What an idea! is it really usable/wearable or did you just temporarily pin it on somehow for the photo?
Cutiepie, I totally agree with the others, esp. the first picture is a great hairstyle! I looks wonderful on you.

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've last visited the lounge. Now that my semester is over I've stopped being lazy enough to start pin curling again. It feels nice :) (excuse the work shirt)

Hello, everyone!

I would like to ask for your expertise on a hairstyle. I have seen several photos of women wearing this hairstyle or one similar, but I haven't seen one that shows the back of the hair. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with how this particular hairstyle is achieved, and if the hair needs to be short to do so...mine is thick and straight and chin length, pretty even all the way around, but I am more than willing to cut it if need be.

Thanks so much!

For a dance on Oct 20, finally went to a stylist friend who always does her own hair fantastic for vintage and historical dance events. I wanted it very Myrna Loy from the 1941 film Shadow of the Thin Man. I thought I didn't have enough hair of my own, so I had just re-colored my hair to match a hairpiece I already had. She said my own hair was enough. The first thing she told me was that for vintage looks, she had to recut my hair. First she showed me how to style it for modern everyday, then she did her vintage styling magic! I kept saying, "This cannot be my hair!"

this is after I brushed it out the next morning, I'd love to have my hair look like either of these styles every day!

Geez...haven't been here in a good while! Went to a wedding a while back..pin curled the top and sides and used rollers on the bottom back to "lift" the hair and make it look shorter :) The Mink coat was inherited from my mother in law...it's so beautiful and hardly ever worn!
