Ladies you all look so lovely!! This is my most recent attempt at victory-ish rolls! I usually have trouble doing these because I have really thin, fine hair, but surprisingly these stayed in fairly well! I apologize for the "duck face" in advance hehe :p

Juliet, I love your 'do! It takes me forever it seems to make my fake poodle bangs look natural...I'm envious of yours!

Today I bring you lovely ladies an updo. I set my hair on a whim last night but decided ahead of time on a vintage inspired updo since it (was) rainy and breezy today. Also the A/C is on the fritz at my job and I hate dealing with hair down in the heat.

The back is pulled into a ponytail and the curls run through with some pomade and pinned into a chignon. It's supposed to be a little more off to the side but for some reason, my hands decided everything must be centered!

I'm thinking this would be a great do for a tilt hat since there are no curls on the other side of the face. I'm toying with the idea of wearing my hair like this for a friend's wedding since we'll be outside on a riverbank in July.

Wow I adore this look!!!

First one for a while....... I used large velcro rollers for this with a few of the second-largest size near the face, rolled back and up towards the crown for all rollers. With smaller rollers to the bottom layers of the hair and a more wet-set approach, I think this could come out as a Lauren Bacall or Veronica Lake type of look. I applied velcro rollers to 99% dry hair for this set. Set with Aveda Phomollient mousse.

Lipstick is MAC Chili in case anyone wonders.

I apologise for posting SUCH horrid pictures - I wish one of you lovely ladies would make a tutorial on how to take decent pictures of a hairdo without resorting to mirrors and terrible lighting and awkward angles.
But I'm so excited right now, as quite suddenly a bad hair day turned into a Betty Grable do! I've never managed one of those before!

belated happy birthday SheBear! That cheesecake is immense! :)

I finally got back into setting my hair! I got really disheartened with setting it a couple of months ago when it flopped spectacularly one windy day, but a couple of days ago I decided to give it another go! It does feel so nice to have "proper" hair again!
This is the second day of a foam roller set.

(hope the picture isn't huge)

Absolutely stunning!

so many beautiful hairstyles on beautiful ladies, it's always fun to look at the pics.

I tried sort of a front roll faux bang for the first time. I'm quite satisfied with it (a bit of a consolation for the not-so-good back)

I love my grey hair, btw. Soon, I might look like this:

a little less freaky maybe :D

...
Don't dream it, be it!

Thank you Katinka!
I gain more and more confidence in wearing vintage (inspired) clothing and hair on an every day basis.
I'm ready for the next step which will be finding out how to do an appropriate make-up. That'll be a challenge for me...

Thank you m_luvsartdeco. I love your glasses! do you wear them every day?
I got the streaks on both sides. I once asked a hairdresser "how can I dye my hair but keep the grey?" She recommended a dye that would "cover all the grey hair". I repeated my question, but she just didn't understand; probably it was the first time someone didn't ask her how to get rid of the grey but the other way around.

Yes, they are prescription glasses...I can't see past 3 feet without them! If you want to keep that streak...whenever you dye your hair...seperate it with some aluminum foil so the dye won't touch it...That's what I did for a while :)

Thanks for the advice and for the picture, love your style! I had prescription glasses and wore a vintage butterfly model when I was a teenager. But since I didn't wear vintage clothes or hair, it looked sort of awkward. I still have the frame in my cupboard (a souvenir from Charleston, SC).
Now I don't wear any glasses (besides sunshades) because I had a laser operation on my eyes.
