Juliet actually, I mix several foundation creams: the Make Up For Ever HD (n° 117), with Erborian BB cream and just a little of a Laura Mercier foundation. I mix them (just a few drops) in my hand and I apply on my face with an egg shapped sponge (the Beautyblender one). It gives a beautiful glow.
I also use a Make Up For Ever concealer cream on my dark circles, a green camouflage cream (not sure about the vocabulary, it sounds like camouflage makeup for soldiers :eusa_doh:)to hide redness. Then I apply the Météorites n°1 by Guerlain.

Thank you!

ColeV48, that's adorable!

Here I am this morning, with yet another Blackberry bathroom pic. I did a wet set with sponge rollers & Lottabody last night, then took it out before bed & just pinned the curls down with bobby pins for sleeping. This morning I brushed it out & hit it with a bit of VO5 hairdressing.

^ I still can't do pincurls, unless I use rollers first, take them out, and then pin the set curls down.

Pin curls work best for me when I do them with dripping wet hair just out of the shower. I'm really slow when doing them so I just wet the comb when the hair is drier than I need it be, brush it wet and curl it up.

Maybe that'll help?? :)

I finally got around to booking an appointment with a hairdresser. I know I said I want to save it, but it's reached the point where it just looks too iffy. I'm going to edge towards a nice chin length (or just below) bob. I had that before and I loved it (then stupidly cut it for a Louise Brooks like do which nobody liked on me but my mother). Anyway, I finally got up the nerve to call the only 'retro' hairdresser I know of - I know Isis thinks she did a really good job with her middy and I think she'll get what I want. I don't know why the I haven't done it before - I'm really shy and don't feel I like really belong in the retro/vintage community. Anyway, I'll post pics afterwards.

In the meantime... I've made my own hair gel/setting lotion. I'm sure you've all heard about just boiling linseeds in water? You do that and then separate the seeds from the fluid using a sieve. I added a glob of conditioner too, and then just let it cool. It's so slimy it looks like the ectoplasma in Ghostbusters, but it turned out really, really well. I used it for a wet set overnight and the curls were every bit as good as with Lottabody - maybe just a tad less long lasting - but much more shiny. Anyway, it was cheap, eco friendly and since I put a cinnamon stick in with the linseeds, it smells lovely. No more sending for expensive setting lotion from across the globe for me! :)

I just got bangs on saturday for the first time in 13 years, and chopped off quite a bit due to split ends. The stylist was curious to see how it would look styled straight and modern since she knows me and has only ever seen it in curls. So I walked out of there feeling VERY odd. Once I got home and curled it though I felt like me again, and the shorter length meant I could get it really big :D Here's the first picture of it styled my normal way, I'll post a better one when I get my pics back from my shoot yesterday. The color is "ombre" from bright red to deep purple, the color will show much better when I get it touched up because apparently the dye has to get a chance to build.

I don't post often, but I'd like to.
I had to go out right after a shower and may hair's waist length so I put it up in a french twist, the event was tropical and dress-up was encouraged so out my tropical flower came (the only tropical thing I could find in my warobe) and I got the lai at the gathering and decided to put it in my hair half way through the night so I'm going to share pics of both looks.

Thanks ladies! :) Its nice to see people appreciating it! The manicure took about an hour but it really completes the look.

Hannahjane-I love the three rolls and the flower, so pretty, I feel like the half up style is my "go-to" look for any day. It's gotten so easy with practice.

Penny- your hair is beautiful, I love the fading into another color look with the red, I've never seen that before but it suits you.

Fortworthgal-your hair and skin tone matches so perfectly, I'm envious of how creamy white your skin is! The style is so pretty and classically thirties

Cole-I love your hair, Bobs are so pretty. I wish they had events like that around where I live!

fortworthgal, understated elegance! Love the wave, I still struggle with it so.

On the rollers vs. the pincurls - I'm the girl who never mastered rollers! My hair just always came out looking droopy and undefined. After three years of trying, I might add

Flicka, I', glad you found an alternative!
I tried linseed lotion several times, but on my hair - it did dull the shine immensely. So I've just ordered Lottabody today from a UK-based shop! And I'm very excited and awfully nervous.

Penny Dreadful, I think the bangs suit you very well indeed!

strathspeychick, what a great ides, to wrap the loa around your hair!

HannahJane, your rolls came out gorgeous! And the style suits you so!
Off-topic - if one may enquire, what lipstick is it you're wearing in the photo?

Thank you for the compliments everyone! You all put a smile on my face!
Juliet, I was wearing a Bourjois lipstick. The shade is called "rouge fashion". It's a really nice lipstick, I wear it most days. I put a quite plummy lip liner on underneath it which changed the colour a bit.
