Ok, here we go! New middy that is challenging me. I think I need to go with bigger rollers. No pomade, hairspray, pins or other accoutrements, this is just my hair!

Thanks, ladies! I guess I'm just a bit out of my comfort zone with it this short. I do like it today, and I'm looking forward to trying new styles until it grows out

Tatum,
Could you perhaps elaborate a bit on how you had your hair cut? Pretty please?

I'm going to have a hair appointment soon, and I'd like to have more layers cut, but am quite wary

Juliet, I used the diagram for the femme fatale cut, about 6" layers with the front a tad longer (just past my lips). My stylist is really great, she understood the diagram when I explained it. Basically, she sectioned my hair, held it out parallel to the floor (except the top, she did that holding it straight up) and cut it. It would almost be like c-dot's tutorial minus the elastics!

She is really great, even though I only get chopped twice a year, she keeps my diagrams in her drawer

I did take in one or two other diagrams initially, would you like me to post those in the Middy thread for you?

I had to renew my drivers licence today (don't those photos always look terrible?) so I thought I'd set my hair. Unfortunately it was a very wet & windy day, but my set held up ok. Here's a photo I took after I got back home.

Lolly, cute! I'm surprised you didn't do rolls or something for your DL photo, I would have done something over the top for the heck of it. I hate my DL pic, it's so boring and I look angry! My Sam's Club card actually looks like me, and is funny. I had lost three cards in a year, and the girl taking the new photo and I were joking about doing something funny, so I made a silly face, and would you believe, I still have that card three years later? Figures

Last night I attempted the Lauren Bacall style instructions again with bigger rollers.... and I used ones that were TOO large in the back! The back and bottom curls didn't really come out at all, just in loose waves like normal, so I put the hair up in a side bun. I think the top wave part came out all right, though...

the other side of the hair is just pulled back and rolled around into the bun to the one side.
