I was wondering if anyone with dyed black hair has tried this CO thing? I only wash and set my hair in the cooler months once a week. My hair tends to look dull nearing the end of the week. I have been using olive oil but I think I might try this out to see if it it helps hold the shien and improves my ends? I'll let everyone know.

Just be sure your frizz is from your hair being dry, and not from the humidity of the weather.
My hair only frizzes in the humidity~ from too much moisture in the air making my natural wave unruly. Then in the winter, it's the opposite. Not enough moisture in the air and alas we have static.
That's why I always love my hair in the fall, lol!

I sat in pin curls all day so I could play with my hair tonight. I wanted to try something new.
Here is my inspiration:

Of course, I couldn't get it just right. But here is my attempt. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Seems like a lot of rolls to me. And I'm not used to having symmetrical rolls on the top of my head. I'm used to parting it on the side.
So there are 2 rolls on the top and a roll above each ear and the bottom of the hair is just brushed into rolls- they aren't pinned in any way.
I'm going to a WW2 event this weekend. Should I do this style? What do you gals think?

Leaette, I think it's cute!! You're pretty darn close! I'm with you on the symmetrical rolls, I used to always do mine with a side part, and doing them symmetrical almost feels odd. I wonder if when you do the symmetrical rolls you can let some of the top portion curly-Q out like on the package? That's the only thing I can think of. Honestly though, I just love it, and think it's really cute!:eusa_clap

You did a great job! I have a hard time getting symmetrical rolls even -- you did a great job! I think you should wear it this weekend, too. I agree with Artful, though...maybe if you scootch your rolls into the center a bit more and up front it will make it look more like the inspiration picture. Cuteness!

thanks everyone. i appreciate it. i'll try to get them more together on top. i'm still not used to it, but i'm sure i will get used to it.
i just hope it's not windy this weekend. my hair is poker straight and it never holds a curl. and if it's going to be windy out, then it will fall flat on the bottom.

Leatte,

Your hair looks really nice. I could never do center part rolls because I can never get them looking exactly the same. With the side part, you don't have to worry if they aren't symetrical. Bravo on getting them to look alike! :eusa_clap

Tried something different for me. Was inspired by anabolina a few pages back. Rolled the hair with pantyhose. I have decided my hair deffinately hates me, and that there are no longer any good bobby pins in the world. All the ones I have been buying lately bend if you look at them funny..:rage:
I'm not sure how long this is going to stay.

Ohairas, I know you have some long long hair.. when I see the back of yours, do you roll down one side and then up the other? Or do you do the sides and then the bottom? just curious! Thanks!

Great find Serenity! We need to add that to the sticky thread! ;)

That's pretty much how I did mine when my hair was shorter, except my hair wasn't bleached so it didn't "mold" as easy and I could have never got my curls so "crisp". Makes me wanna cut and bleach my hair right now, lol!
What a pretty girl, great eyes.
I thought she was going for a Marie Antoinette do at first, ha!

Cool, I'd like to see! Here's the same do for my junior prom back in 89. Here my hair was set on hot rollers, brushed out, teased, then rolled and pinned. My hair is just too long for me to do that now, by my self anyway!
Nikki (hey, look, my natural hair color! )
