thank you so much for the comments everyone!!

Juliet - you're so sweet for saying that! it made me cry! my fiance was wondering why I was suddenly sobbing at the computer haha :) xx

Katinka - bless you! that's the nicest compliment :) you look gorgeous in your little avatar too

Zombiegirl - believe me, this is not what I normally look like when I'm sick!! I'm usually in a dressing gown on the sofa with tissues all around me! yuck. This was literally just me trying to perk myself up a bit! Makes you feel a bit better doesn't it?

Snowdrop & Tatum - thank you ladies! :) makes me feel like I'm starting to get it right, I used to feel soooo useless at doing my hair. It's all about practice I guess!

At least being sick at home gives you time to play with your hair...very pretty, and of course I'm a fan of dots!

Here's my latest attempt with longer hair and Bettie bangs getting longer:

Try as hard as possible to get the right side, but I just can't get it [huh]

I do like the dip I finally got the back to do...

Instead of Hot Sticks this time I used med and large sponge rollers and left them in for about 3 hours. I like it better this way, because the curls are less poodle-y at the bottom.

Rue your hair is gorgeous. Heck, YOU are gorgeous. I love the back on this latest photo - shiny and then dipping into the under-turned curl. Lovely!

@ Rue, I love it how it turned out at the back.
I wish mine would look that good.

Thank you again Berlin :)

I'm still a novice, but I can tell you that I used medium sponge rollers in a u shape around my head (tight on the sides and coming down to the base of the back of my head) then I followed those with large rollers in the same way. Then I tied a bandana tightly just around the curlers and left the top of my head open. I think that helped make the dip. Does that makes sense?

I wish I had your wardrobe ;)

You all have such beautiful hair.

I'm going to spend some time this weekend trawling through this thread and having a play around with my own hair.

You're all very inspirational!

You're very welcome! I hope you share if you do. Your hair always looks amazing :)
I forgot to add that I used hairspray on each section of hair and brushed it out like a mad woman after I pulled out the rollers lol

Rue, that is absolutely stunning! I so look forward to your posts, you are such a knockout :)

That is so sweet of you to say Tatum  and I take that as a great compliment as your hair always looks perfect :)

Okay now someone else post before my head gets big ;)

Rue, it's true -- you have such good bone structure & perfect brows. You always look so lovely! How long is your hair, may I ask? It looks like it might be about the length of mine and I really like that style. :)

Oh my gosh  You girls are embarrassing me. Thank you zombi :):eek:

It's almost to my shoulder blades, but not quite. It needs to be cut though because it's not holding the curl as long as I like (2-3 days). I'll cut about 3 inches off and then not have it done again for about three or four months.

Anyway, all of you made my week, so thank you again :D
