I recently had a kinda modified middy cut and did a set with perm rods over the weekend (as per the lovely Lolita Haze's tutorial). The curls had relaxed a lot by this point but...........

Your hair looks amazing!! How did you like the perming rods? Did you try out the brushing technique or just brush as normal? Either way it looks inspiring!

Excuse the gormless look on my face!

I would like to know what red you use to colour your hair. Mine always fades.

Thanks ladies!

Lolita - I loved the perm rods! I'm so glad I watched that tutorial of yours. I did only brush twice. Once with fingers and once with a bristle brush. I've done pin-curls a few times and I think that the perm rod effect is very, very similar and so much easier! Thanks so much for sharing your methods!

Swinggal - I use Schwarzkopf in Real Red on my hair. I found it faded quite a lot the first few times I used it but, I've been using the same colour for about 2 years now and it doesn't really fade much anymore.

Okay, as some of you may already know (since I've posted it on other threads), I went from a 7 inch middy to a 4 1/2 inch. And boy does that make a difference in styling! This is a new pin curl set I tried this week. I did long part across the top of my head, going from one ear to the other. Put my "bangs" in stand up pin curls and the rest in flat pin curls.

Nine great first try at rolls they are difficult at first and yours are nice an circular which can be hard to achieve if you want them to sit higher up try separating the bangs out of the largest roll and making two rolls on that side.

I am so happy you like them! When I first thought to try them, I didn't imagine I'd have as much success as I have had, nor did I imagine others would as well. That makes me so happy!! Perm rods and a bonnet dryer have been the BEST investments for my hair and styling. All for under 20$ total! I figured most people won't use as many brushes as me, I just have to because of my texture and thickness.

Thank you ladies :) Grantfan, thanks for the advice, I will try that when I try again. Love your haircut, Bopeep, I'd love to have my hair like that, but I'm nervous to cut it, my hair is so long now!

Hey Ladies! I am totally new to this community and a total newbie with vintage hairstyles, but practice makes perfect!

Thought I would share my really quick victory curls I did today before work. I know I still need a lot of work on them but I feel like im getting better :)

Any critique is highly appreciated!

Very nice, you have lovely hair, not only am I jealous of the fact that your hair is super shiny but that you can wear rolls with a center part I just look like I have devil horns. Your should definitely keep it up.
