Second Day Roller Set :)

So I put my hair in dry pin curls last night with a bandana and sprayed them with a curling sea salt mixture (john freida beach blonde) and it worked really well at getting/keeping the curl... And I loved my hair so much today I did a little photoshoot here are the pics (theres quite a few sorry!)

I really like the colours in the picture below. Have you altered them i photoshop or are they for real?

And the lightening of your face looks great, or is it just your skincolour?

I've been obsessed with everyone's hair here, and I've only done two sets, one was pin curls and last night I used a foam roller set... Here's what I came out with... Opinions and Tips/Help are GREATLY appreciated :)

lilbelula~ Wow!!! You are sooo gorgeous and your hair looks fabulous! I would never know you were just starting out.
Love the dress too =)

Wow thanks, I feel like everyone elses hair looks so much more polished, I feel like mine is alot frizzier than everyone elses... and thank you, sadly the dress isn't vintage, but it was a good find at a cheap price at a teen store called Charlotte Russe it was only like $20 and it was the last one and it was my size! haha sometimes I have the GREATEST luck!

o0olibelulao0o, what a doll you are! Welcome to the lounge!

Antje I think that is my favorite pic of you on the lounge yet!

Many of us complain that we can't get the "polished" look, or our hair gets frizzy, ect. But after looking at old Hollywood/vintage photos and watching more movies, their hair wasn't always perfect either.

We must remember that~ and I'm sure the stylist was right on hand to fluff their coiffs before takes!

Besides, we can't always have a perfect "modern day" do either, lol!

what do you think? Any comments/suggestions? Other styles to try, my hair is very long and layered so it's hard to figure out what to do... And honestly... What do I do once I take the set out?! I brush it, then what? That is where I get lost... :) Thanks

Very cute! I also love your eye make-up. Great lining and your lashes look stunning (esp. the bottom). May I ask - natural or fake?

Ohairas: I think you are very right about the frizzy thing :) It does make me feel a little better.

:eek:fftopic: And thank you about the clothes, sadly they are not vintage, but they were good buys! The top is from Forever 21 and they also had it in Coral, but I'm not a coral kind of girl... And the shoes are from DSW http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/catalo...0&category=dsw11cat10041&prodId=175435&brand=
(I hope that works) They are a brand called JS by Jessica Fraggle. And they are SO comfy!

SweetieStar: I kind of followed the 1930's makeup tutorial in another thread... And those are my natural lashes... With alot of help from mascara :) I use three different kinds of mascara, I use Max Factor 2000 Calorie (my FAVORITE) all over from root to tip, then the silver revlon 3d lash I think it's called, and smudge that in at the base line top and bottom, then I have another not sure what it's called at the moment, but it's a lengthening one and I cover the tips with that. :)

o0olibelulao0o - I can't believe how great your hair is for such an early attempt - you must have real natural flair for it. You're so lucky to have that natural gloss to it too.

I was very pleased with my set today. I had a meeting with my hairdresser about doing some design work for her and I really wanted to impress her!

Thank you girls! Nina (my hairdresser) was very impressed. It just goes to show where practice gets you - this time last year I was still struggling with getting consistent curls and now I can do it every time! Hurrah! In fact, I might even go so far as to say that I liked my set today better than when Nina does it!!! And that is seriously saying something! :)

Oh and Cherry Lips - you are so good for my ego! You'll be pleased to hear that I had pale green kid leather gloves to match my cardigan and a dark green box handbag to match my jacket :)

This is my first try at using a real setting pattern and pincurls, and I'm pretty pleased. The ultimate goal was a pageboy. Usually my pincurls look flat, frizzy and horrid, so this is a step up ;)

First, the pattern:
