What kind of product did you use? When I used to use these rollers a lot, I only ever used Brylcreem and Royal Crown. It used to hold for a minimum of 3 days! The only conclusion I can come to is I am pretty sure my hair was majorly thinned out and I had layers. So maybe it wasn't so heavy. Now when I use the rollers, they fall out to waves by the end of the day.

You could try using a "working" spray, and spray the section, then roll it up. That should help some.

It Looks GREAT!!!:eusa_clap

You could also try a heat-setting spray, which is basically hairspray with (supposedly) heat-protective ingredients added. Not sure which brands are available in the U.K., but I've had good luck with Matrix Biolage Thermal-Active Spray, Redken Hot Sets, and Tresemme Curl Activator. A bit of industrial-strength regular hard-holding hairspray afterwards also helps a lot, but beware of the crunch factor.

Tried a heat setting spray this morning and it definitely helped. It went rather sticky though which made it look dirty and it was a bit patchy in it's holding capabilities so some bits still dropped. I should add that it was VERY windy today so it's hard to say how it would have held up under normal weather conditions! I'm dyeing tonight so I might try it again on my clean hair in the morning.

johanna You have excelled yourself yet again
pink That is just SO cute!

Shooshoo, I love your hair! Is that just a simple black bow in back?

Johanna, the cut looks great. Did you do it yourself again?

Clara you are SO funny... single white femaling... hehehehhe.. your new do is darling as well. I'd been meaning to ask how the color was going, and if you had gotten a touch up!

Rooster, looks like you've joined Clara and Johanna... I like it!

thank you, if you saw the amount of breakage I've got you wouldn't have envy at all, and to think I pay silly money each month to have it coloured professionally!

Hmmm, looking at that photo I think its an eyebrow sorting out night.

Totally, I have mad stupid breakage. At least I don't pay for it at the salon lol. Thinking of doing away with the super blond just to let my hair recoup.

I third that. I had my hair colored very similar to yours KittyT for a number of years (done myself). My poor hair reached its limit though. The front started to refuse to grow and was actually crispy most days. I think it has been about 3 years now and I finally feel like it's happy again. But I never had very stellar hair to begin with.

I adore the platinum blond and dual color looks though. I long for those days again and think about it every time I walk done the color aisle. I think I was actually fondling the bleach boxes the last time.

I know my hair couldn't cope with blonde but i still covet it! When I am more than half grey/white I will go blonde I reckon.

Smuterella: you have such a perfect pouty lip shape too! Don't forget to post the results of your brow reshape on the Vintage Brows thread :)

My hair is very strong so it's handled the bleaching well, but more and more I'm noticing breakage and dryness. The only problem is that I have to wait for the black to grow out before I can take everything to a natural blond shade. In the meantime, I'll have to keep bleaching, I fear. Or maybe I should keep the two-tone look with a natural blond instead.

Does anyone have any experience dying a darker blond shade over already bleached locks?

Miss Hannah - lovely results! You're lucky that hot rollers work for you and that your hair is at least wavy after a while. I have no recommendations as hot rollers last 15 minutes on me.

Johanna - you really suit shorter hair of this length, it looks great!
