Well by going by the proof mark code of KE it would put date of slide production at 1994. But it does say made in West Germany so that means it was actually milled pre 1990 and probably sat in stock till it was assembled and finished in 1994 when it would have got its serial number and proof marks.
I saw the proof marks and the made in West Germany and was curious. A beautiful weapon.

Although not a expensive super good scope, it had this vintage daylite which is period and actually kinda cool to go along with this gun

I'm a great fan of using brass rod for putting things together. It planes and sands just as well as wood and shines most attractively under a good oil finish. Well chosen, that man. And once you have that gem all back together you need to take it to Arizona for Coues whitetail hunting in honer of Jack O'Connor. It is a .270 after all . . .
