So, I got an old model 70. I need windage and elevation adjustable scope mounts. Who makes such things now days? Cursed rails!

I'm guessing you'll be looking for old B&L mounts.Been years but I think I remember an adjustable,removable model.Try Gunbroker.com.

I would always try to keep the old B&L mounts together in a zip lock bag or something when I would take a set off of a rifle that we had just purchased. But in the year now that I've been away from the shop and the transient "smiths" that have passed thru along with the usual lot of bench buzzards, I would be sorely suprised to think I could even locate a set.

Did anyone besides B&L make such a mount? No luck so far but I knew the search would be a long one. Just wondering if maybe there is another name I could search for.

I picked up a Rossi M92 SRC in .38/.357 last year and then spent more than I paid for the gun getting an action job, new springs & sights, getting the safety removed/plugged, stock refinished, etc., by Steve Young at Steve's Gunz near Lampasas, TX. Steve is a true gentleman and a fantastic gunsmith. The gun wasn't bad when I bought it, but he made it a great gun! It's one of my favorites.

Put a rifle on layaway yesterday, a Rossi 92 in .357. It will be unusual as one of the very few firearms I have ever bought new!

Stith! wow, there's a blast from the past. I did a quicky search and it says they went out of business in 1956. I remember them. As a kid I had a small black box that said Stith and I kept my coins in it. Not collectors coins, just money. I think I made it up to $4.50 once.:D
