Horace, Last Winchester I bought came out of the Cabela's gun library because it was a good price! I looked at it for 1/2 hour trying to figure out what was the heck was wrong with it!!!!! But you are correct. This was the exception and not the rule for most occasions. But even a blind hog finds an acorn ever now and again! :)

Thanks Bob...not really my field, are they all marked Olin Kodensha on the floor plate, or just the early ones? Those William Larkin Moore 3/4 oz. loads are super nice to shoot...rebranded Fiocchi trainers I'm told.

Mike. I thought those were only the early ones marked Olin. I'm not real sure. I do know who to ask if I run into him anytime soon.

I am a strong proponent of Miroku made guns. They are all well made, well fitted and the steel is excellent. I know many bad mouthed a lot of them. Early on. But they are first rate as far as I'm concerned. Same with Japanese Brownings.

My go-to O/U is a Browning lightning 12 by Miroku. For an OTR gun it fits like bespoke. Even the head shooting coach at H&H had nothing but good things to say about it. Give it a 1 oz. Int'l trap load of nickle plated 7 1/2's and dinner will soon be served.

Picked up a used Remington 1911 this week. Had a few blemishes that cleaned up well with a little steel wool and 3 in 1 oil. Gonna use it for Zoot Shooting as all I have to do is black out the white dots on the sights.

Very nice Deacon. Have fun with the zoot shooting. Can't seem to drum up any interest around here (My physical location not the lounge) for people to try it. It's either IDPA or Cowboy Action Shooting. Again, that is a sweet looking 1911.

Having carried the milspec version of that for 29 years, I am no fan of the AR format. However, I have to admit that you have managed to turn out a right handsome version of the ol' mouse gun. It's as nice a coyote/bobcat shooter as I think I've seen is some time. Well done, that man!

Very nice carbine, Deacon.

I wanted something lightweight too that I could carry in my truck or Kawasaki Mule. I have some nice Colt AR's but hate to get them bumped around so I recently put this together.

I built the lower using an Armalite receiver and Armalite parts then put a Del-Ton A2 upper with a pencil barrel on it. The grip is made by Hogue, the furniture and 20 round magazine are all Magpul. I wanted something very basic and not dependent on batteries for optics or the need to flip up sights. I just shot it yesterday for the first time and really like it. It is very lightweight and amazingly accurate considering it only has the basic A2 rear sight. I expected to have to adjust the rear sight or front sight post but it was spot on right out of the box.

"Nice! Not sure if I could pull off the sandy color myself, though. "

Well how about a little sub 7lb. number in grey .....'Suits You Sir!'

Oh what the hey - let's all get fired:

Yeah, I enjoy shooting the ARs now. I was like Sarge for many years, calling them mouse guns, but after busting up my spine and neck my full power WW1 and 2 stuff hurt to shoot very much. These little buggers make it fun again! I kinda like the two-tone look [obviously] but also have one in basic black as well. [Formal social occasions?] If you are tall with long arms, be warned though, the Magpul MOE Fixed stock is quite short, probably 1 1/2 to 2" minimum difference. Anybody got a spare Magpul pistol grip in black or FDE lying around?

Hi, I believe that White Oak Armament will make one of those in most colors. I was at the Tulsa Wannemacher show a few years back and they said that built a complete Purple AR-15, all of the metal AND all of the plastic were dark purple. I guess the guy wanted to be able to find it at Camp Perry, and who'd steal it?
