And there's a gunsmith in Oklahoma who routinely does rechambering of the Kodiak in .450 NE. The firm has been doing it for years though Pedersoli keeps insisting that no one should. (Liability issues, no doubt.) I've never heard of anyone having trouble with one of their conversions and that should come as no surprise. The .450 NE is a low pressure cartridge and the Kodiak is built like a bank vault. I will go back to Africa again but whether to get a Kodiak reworked into .450 or to just get my .404 restocked--that is a conundrum.

About a decade ago, one of the editors of Gun digest had a Kodiak rechambered for 45-120. He did not have it regulated, but instead used powder charges, and bullets to do the same. He discovered full loads of bp did the best. A Black Powder Express double rifle, that would be fun!

Picked this up some time back, I'm told it's likely a Grenada USMC bring back being a 7.62X45 and considering the condition it's in. Think I'll be keeping it because it's actually legal in California. Heading back there from two years in Vegas so this will be the start of my collection. Plan to start gathering some bolt action military stuff.
