Ah! That's more like it. I have a photo of my father wearing one of those in a reverse draw holster. He's in uniform standing in front of a Jeep, cap tilted just so in a very non-regulation way.
I had plans to cut the barrel on this M1917 to 4” ala a true Indy pistol, until I received it and realized what good shape it was in. It would be a crime to cut such a fine antique, so the search continues for a bargain priced beater 1917

Not as easy as Clint Eastwood makes it look, is it. First time I shot one I couldn't hear anything for 2 hours.Bought my first wheel gun this past week, a brand new Ruger Redhawk 44 Magnum w/ 5.5" barrel! I put the first 100 rounds of 44 mag through it yesterday, my hand is still sore. Feels good! View attachment 103646
No hearing protection? That would hurt! Harry Callahan would be stone deaf for the whole Dirty Harry series after the very first shot in the very first scene! This thing was so loud the shock wave was blowing snow off the roof of the shooting bench shelter, lol.Not as easy as Clint Eastwood makes it look, is it. Oh my, that is a BEAUTIFUL set, and that's rarely a word I use to describe firearms (I'm more of a knife man, myself).
